BS------Wherever he transfers too, odds are 99.9999% that Brew wonât be there either. Stay here with new coaches, or move elsewhere with new coaches.
What about Malik El-Tamer?
Totally agree he has the talent to do great things at the college level and possibly beyond. Truly wish he had stayed. We would have been better for it.
Liked his family as well as they tailgated next to us for a number of games. I got to talk Oriole baseball talk with them.
You should never pick a player over the coach. If this was the NFL and he was on a 5 year contract and a proven talent, maybe you get his input. He is an 18 year old kid with tons of talent and was a very good player for us and could walk out tomorrow and hit the portal and get the bag. Ask Patterson about committing then stabbing us in the back.
Wish him luck and who knows he might find out the grass isnât greener outside of Niner green
Iâm of the mindset of screw any player that transfers out and would have high chances of playing here on a regular basis. Bless those that know they wonât play here on a regular basis and good luck getting playing time elsewhere.
I believe Coach will get some good players in here who will easily replace whoever we lose. Looking forward to the new adventure of Niner football next season.
Donât fool yourself, Purdie had some glaring weaknesses. He had issues with fumbles, he had issues throwing short and throwing over the middle. I wish he had stayed and developed but he may have issues at a P5 and a lateral move is probably going to happen.
He said he wanted to put Charlotte on the map for football and he still had that opportunity. Guess he really didnât mean it.
I have to think one full year for Purdie to develop here as a full time starter and then jump to bigger program would have been best for everyone. But whatever⌠I look fwd to see Albin do his work.
Maybe some of it is coping but iâm not sure how many P4âs he would start for. But maybe he wants a facilities upgrade and more money to go and develop under. Curious where he ends up
Pain.
Iâm not happy about Purdie entering the portal. Most likely he will get an offer too big to refuse and then itâs on him to go earn it. I would have liked to see him stay here, to the point where, if he has a change of heart, Iâd welcome him back.
I donât get the venom though. The only person I thought some of that was warranted for was LuâCye, because of his actions.
Purdie stayed until we named a new coach, met with him, then made his decision. I think that shows patience and maturity and at least some interest in possibly sticking around. Hard to fault any of that.
Purdie is good enough for P4 - Auburn, Florida State, UCF hopefully not in AAC like Memphis

Purdie has been very transparent, he came here because of Mike Miller and Biff. IMO, in his eyes, neither are here any longer than why not see what else is out there.
You do know all this negative stuff everyone is saying about kids leaving, donât let the door hit you, always pick a coach over a player etc⌠I am not agreeing or disagreeing either way, but remember Coaches can leave as well. Tim Albin signed an extension with OH last year and he left them high and dry.
This. Could definitely leave for the next big job next year. Regardless of what he says. Coaches started this rapid movement thing, after all.
But blame the kidsâŚ
I think he was gone with or without the coaching change.
You misspelled employees.
If he leaves us for a big job next year that likely means we made the playoff, or got very close to it. Iâll take that all day long and twice on sunday.
Everyone involve now in college athletics not a fan is an employee. Even if they arenât getting NIL money they are getting scholarships, if they arenât getting scholarships they are getting other benefits like free food and travel.
Everyone is a legal adult and responsible for their own choices.
I plan to treat them as such.
No one is a âkidâ anymore.
