2024 49er Football Transfer Portal

I just remember that Elijah Hawkins had said he was staying in the Twin Cities and, at that point, IIRC, there wasn’t a spot for Patterson with the Gophers. Then the former did an about face less than 2 weeks after his “recommitment” and entered the portal, eventually landing at Texas Tech.

Anyway, don’t doubt money factored into Patterson’s decision to return home and finish out his collegiate career. Plus the opportunity to be closer to family, play in the Big Ten, etc as well.

Now, Jenkins to TTU was all about the money. He’s from the DMV and actually attended same high school as Jahmir - DeMatha in Maryland.

Which id understand more if he went to UT or ISU like igor and dj but Minnesota’s nil is comparable to ours

We are gonna have to find a new offensive line.

Is Rod Gainey the next Durrell Robinson? He put up very solid numbers so far for UConn!!!

Max is in.

This isn’t much of a surprise. Nerve came close to the superhero that was going to change Charlotte football. Oh, that also sounds like the coach that was telling us that

Would potentially free up his NIL money, assuming the source was still invested in the program.

Let’s start with Purdie and Blake!

I hope the Purdies read this board.

I know it in my heart and soul that Deshawn needs to stay at Charlotte at least one more season.

Why?

Simple.

Here he is QB1 with a bullet and will have the equity next year to weather any injuries and wobbly performances he may have.

Here at Charlotte he can get the game time he needs to improve his game.

If he takes a small to medium bag now to go to a P5 he is risking a lot. The QB room is going to be a lot more competitive and he is not going to have the equity mentioned above to weather injuries or wobbles.

My gut tells me that if he stays he will have a great year and then will be in a position to do two things.

  1. Transfer for a big bag and be the undisputed QB1 after another year of experience.

  2. Stay at Charlotte and be a legend and get drafted anyway.

Charlotte offers him a world of opportunity that he has already stepped through. Take advantage of that! At least for another year!

He’s also one of my favorite players in quite a while and I just simply want him to stay, lol.

His dad stated to a friend of mine that Biff and/or Mike Miller is what keeps him at Charlotte, and that money alone won’t take him away.

Being that one of those is impossible, looks like MH has a decision to make. The kid or a new coach? Brewster is the only one that probably keeps MM around.

My guess is that in the portal era, MH bets on a new coach and not a kid that could just fly on us next year.

Jonny King will always be a true NINER!
