Hunter said thereās @ 900 tickets left so we still have a decent shot of a sellout. Hopefully we can get some more info this evening from Bobby and Al.
If the 8-9 starters out for 1st 3 weeks is trueā¦Biff should be fired for whatever he did to allow that to happen (practice intensity, strength & conditioning, recovery, et al). That is unacceptable.
If itās āgamesmanshipāā¦what happens when there are no 9 players sittong out due to injury and everyone seems to be healthy and playing?? Thatās not gamesmanship thatās just bold faced lying. THATās the moral leader we want as the figurehead of this program? And if it is a ruseā¦itās so outlandish that if it works it will work exactly once. For the JMU openerā¦really? Why bother?
Is it possible that we have 8-9 disciplinary āsuspensionsā that he is characterizing as āinjuriesā as to not embarrass the players?
And yesā¦Lou Holtz used to make Stetson sound like Oklahoma in his pregame pressersā¦but he coached Notre Dame with legendary results. He was not a 1st time college coach coming off of a 3 win season at one of the worst programs in all of D1. And alsoā¦he didnāt make up lies about injuriesā¦nor did he injure half his starters prior to game 1.
This hire is turning out to be more of a clown show by the day.
I think the Biff experiment is about to be doneā¦along with Mike Hill.
As long as he dosenāt have a stake in the money it dosenāt matter right? There are no rules against screwing with your players and/or the other team. JMU had their Connor Stallions out at our practice just a few days ago.
I talked to a few people and here is what I think and itās in the FWIW department.
Coach never named the starters and he never named those injured. It could be someone way down on the depth chart. So who is to say which of the injured were really going to start. Only the coaches know and they arenāt divulging anything.
My only read is that Poggi didnāt qualify the injuries as being such that the those noted were not serious enough to prevent them from playing. Hopefully this the caseā¦just putting on my green glasses
None of it makes sense. If you arenāt going to specify who is injured and the severity, why mention anything? Why also say you give yourself an F for keeping guys healthy. If Iām a parent, thatās at the top of my priorities for a coach and a school, keeping my kid healthy. You also kill any momentum and excitement for fans and players.
I just donāt get it. Biff is not a robot that regurgitates coach speak, which I appreciate, but this just seems odd and a poor way to get the season started. I keep getting vibes that biff wants out and this is calculated.
Who do we think is injured? From looking at the depth chart, the first that comes to mind is Jalar Holley. Other potential injured players are Johnny Hasard, Duane Thomas, Aiden Kaler, Stephen Sings and CJ Stokes.
These are all players I expected to be on the depth chart but are not.
Iāve watched Biffās comments several times now and Iām just not going to get too animated about itā¦the Niners either win the game or they donātā¦I still believe, cautiously, that this is a much better team than last year. I unfortunately canāt be at the game, but will definately be watching on TV and pulling for a WIN.
This isnāt last seasonās JMU either, though itās still a good team and excellent programā¦I just gotta believe itās a game the Niners can win (I will never say should) and I think they will, for no other reason than if I didnāt think so, why bother?
