clt says blood from an ecu fan should be considered a BSL-4 cleanup situation
Yes! Definitely noticed this during our last TD run. He was fantastic blocking downfield.
If youāre looking for a fun read, Boneyard Banter is organizing a mob to string up Mike Houston.
I still canāt get over how bad the format of that website is. And theyāve put up with it for at least the 20 years Iāve known about it. Niners are soooo fortunate to have NNN!
I jokingly suggested we should chant āscrew Mike Houstonā in the 4th quarter and was told that the ECU section would probably beat us to the punch.
Karma, as always, is a bitch
Personal side note: I saw Dr. Gaber wearing a necklace with a giant Chartlotte logo yesterday. Raise you hand if you think Phil would ever do that.
This is what poggi promised us.
Kudos to the kids, oz, miller, and poggi.
I have two negatives from this game.
1: Mike Houston is still receiving my tax dollars
2: for the first time, our students proximity to opposing fans became problematic. Expansion is needed.
Phil does strike me as the type to wear a womenās necklace
clt says the ecu fans have blamed NIL and are now blaming our field for being too hot.
this is a team from greenville nc complaining about the heat
Most dominating performance Iāve ever seen at JRS against a FBS team. 2018 homecoming vs WKU or 2019 vs UMass are the only other games that comes close. This game had more importance given it was a conference game against an in-state opponent.
Biff Poggi fever dream the way we ran the ball.
If Lisa told him to.
Iāve been pretty uninterested in football after the way we started the season but today was FUN! That was dominate and the fact that it was ECU makes it that much better. Any time we can beat them is great, but getting to 3-3 and mathematically having a chance for 6-6 was SPECIAL.
If this is what this team can do every week, then we are in for some more fun games before December.
I wish we had the biggest NIL pot in the American. Memphis is getting $5 million from FedEx alone.
The ECU fans are correct about our stadium holding heat. Itās been discussed at length.
Most of you have never sat on that side. If you have, I cannot begin to express to you how hot it is. I donāt know the combination of factors create it, but I have been to stadiums all over the southeast. I do it for one of my jobs. I have never in my life been to a place that comes close to the visitor side of our stadium. Their place in Greenville is pretty bad too, but itās nothing like ours.
Almost all stadiums are made of concrete and aluminum if getting hit by direct sunlight you are going to cook. I went to the Indiana game and couldnāt hardly watch the game because it felt like an oven.
After we expand there will be more shade cover for 3:30 kickoffs.
We have a good nil but not bigger than memphis
You cannot underestimate how much social gatherings like this matter for alumni connection. A generation from now, no one would dare call us a commuter school.
Winning makes it even better.
Rewatching the game.
Random notes (gonna update this periodically):
-
Duane Thomas blocking is for real. He sprung some huge runs.
-
With 3:38 left in the first quarter, not only were we up 14-0, but ECU had only run 3 plays.
-
Agree with @ghostofclt - we looked bigger on both lines.
-
Purdie started 6/7 for 96 yards. He was carving them up and had plenty of time to throw until they started heavy blitzing.
-
We seriously need to get Biff a hat / visor that fits his enormous melon. He looks like he is wearing the kiddie version. Somebody please effort that.
-
Elijah Culpās INT was huge. Huge. ECU was driving for the tying score.
-
ECU was killed by some of the same types of bonehead plays we have been making, including horribly timed penalties, lack of discipline on one occasion, and so many dropped passes.
