They make a really good point in this podcast about ECUs defense. If we start Purdie, ECU will blitz as he holds the ball too long and makes mistakes. Trex gets the ball out quickly even if he cannot stretch the field.

Will see if Max actually starts. I don’t trust anything our staff says. They play too many games when it comes to this stuff. As Hunter points out, we have a bye week next, so resting Max would rest him 2 more weeks.

I don’t think Max will play the rest of the season, they just aren’t saying that yet. I don’t understand the injury report “games”.? Hope I’m wrong.

I kind of agree with you, don’t know how you go from surgery and “plates and screws” in your throwing hand to playing a contact sport a few weeks later… I didn’t realize we had Duke medical school on campus… we will see.

It’s hard to believe much the staff says. A healthy Max probably gives us a better chance but with the “screws and plates” comment you don’t know how well he can throw the ball.

Bigger concern for me is our defense.

All, the AAC doesn’t require teams file injury reports prior to games. I personally don’t want Biff telling everyone who’s playing or not, especially QB’s who are the biggest impact to football games. Let them keep guessing when setting up their game plans. Our 3 QB’s are very different. Who knows if it works or not, but why not try to get a slight advantage? we need it.
