Well one thing positive we can say about our team is we don’t have a cupcake schedule. Navy was ranked earlier and Indiana! INDIANA ! Yikes!
This is the reason i hope we play well the last 3 games. We have had a tough schedule, and played well in part of the games except Navy and IU. We ahould put pressure on last three teams
Exactly, i saw one ranking that said we have the 53rd hardest schedule (SoS) this year. Schedules are done yr’s in advance, we still have some pay games to play. We had to schedule those games to fund a growing program, I get it. You know how to make a bowl game, look at EZU’s schedule, 120th hardest. IMO, Next year could be even harder, unc-Cheat, GA, Army, Tulane. That is why Biff made the comment last presser “some teams schedule to make a bowl game”
FWIW, no one expected Indiana to be what they are this season when that game was scheduled. AAC made the decision on Navy and again, no expectation they would be as good based on recent results. Just saying.
I remember when that IU game was scheduled. We were thinking that was a P5 game maybe we could steal. They were bad. For years.
Yes, IU historically one of the worst of the then P5.
I would say we played well in parts of the IU game also
IMO; historically means nothing. With the implosion of the college football landscape, looking at past records doesn’t really mean much for some programs. What is it that fidelity always says, “past results are not indicative of future performance”. Yes when we signed the contract to play Ind, they were in the bottom 25% of Big10 frequently but Indiana has some pretty wealthy boosters, Cuban etc… The new way of life actually benefited them. Now Army and Navy, I have no clue, except they finally got football coaches in there to lead the teams.
I actually posted back then that it would be nice to get the money and the win. I admit when I am using the green-colored glasses too much.
Good points but the reality is that when the contract was signed, Indiana could legitimately be seen as a possible win based on the past futility of their program. We just “lucked” into being a part of IU’s historic 2024 season.
Commish and the “Group Of Five Guys” for 32+ minutes.
Tulane just too much for Navy today.
Drayton HC at Temple discusses this as well, Tulane’s superior talent, Tulane has been able to attract and develop talent, they have a unique opportunity with the football talent in Nola & La.
Gotta say this is deserved. These are the two best teams in the AAC.
