Must be some serious money issues in Birmingham.

Ingram’s decision is head scratching but he’s no Bama mole. Doesn’t even have any connection to Tuscaloosa though he does with other SEC schools, including his alma mater Tennessee. BTW, from Winston-Salem. Just reminded he was associate AD at Temple prior to UAB.

Looks like FAU wants to score points too.

Been getting reacquainted with Blazers AD Ingram. UAB has basically mortgaged the farm on propping up athletics during his decade in Birmingham. Includes resurrecting the football program and building a new stadium, as well renovating Bartow Arena. And many more projects not going to list here since easily found via a search.

Still, no arguing that his outside the box hiring of Dilfer has so far proven unsuccessful. If Protective Stadium looked empty this season, next year likely to be a ghost town.

Just read Vannini’s Athletic profile of Kittley from March 2022. Definitely not the typical rising through the ranks story!

I think Temple made the better hire. Feels strange saying that.

Temple definitely got a coach who seems like the perfect fit for Philly.

FAU is getting a up and coming wunderkind who - if successful in Boca Raton - will be gone in a flash. And the FAU AD knows that.

Monken well earned! What is so interesting Paul Johnson (btw North Carolina guy!) had always spoken often about the ability to win at the top 10 programs (he called them 80k+ seats programs  ) with his offense.

He always claimed he had phone calls every year about taking his offense to that level of program, but it never happened for whatever reason.

Interesting Monken, Navy, Ga southern, Fritz ran it some at Tulane…. Have been so successful with it, ie Win football games and of course Ga Tech won with it as well!

Really curious that no school in NC dared to try it?..…
