I agree the pitching was great. The home plate umpire did give a wide strike zone though. Credit to the pitchers for using it. That 3 run homer was awesome. Lets take the series. Would love to take care of them and rub it in the little pirates faces.

That ballpark plays totally different when the wind is blowing in. It was definitely a pitcher’s park today. When the wind is blowing out, it turns into a wind tunnel with HR Derby.

I’ve never seen the wind blow in here but there’s a first time for everything. The home plate umpire was absolutely clueless. He rarely knew what the count was, everything was a strike, and he doesn’t know what a fair ball looks like. If you told me that he had been drinking before the game, I’d believe you. ODU has installed Trackman. Hopefully he gets his report so he can see how far off he was.

Game moved back to 4 PM.
He called one strike that literally appeared to hit the outside edge of homeplate…on the ground.

Yeah, that was on Lastres’ final AB. The catchers mitt was touching the ground.
Here was why Hops flipped the bat in the 9th.

29K’s at the plate in 2 games is a big number. Tough to win with that stat. I hope we get it out of our system now and get locked in for region play.

28 Ks for CLT, 24 Ks for ODU this weekend. 3 unearned runs for ODU on Saturday. Not a whole lot of hitting going on for either side this weekend in Norfolk.

These umps are a joke again today. Dont blame Correa for getting tossed. Watching on tv, it has been easy to see how bad the umps are, ESPECIALLY behind the plate, but not only there.
Other than the Wofford game, we have zero clutch hits in seems. We just KEEP leaving runners on base. 7 LOB so far. Very frustrating to watch…leave 2 more on in the 8th.
90% of our at bats, our guys look clueless.
Yeah…our O is severely lacking…tough to win much with so little run support.
1 total run in the last 2 games against that ODU team in THAT “wind tunnel” park…10 LOB…again, NO TIMELY hitting …not good.
The wind tunnel was out of order this weekend. The wind was actually blowing in from right. There’s a first for everything. 
On a positive note, the pitching had a pretty good weekend. I expected the offense to be ahead of the pitching. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some lineup changes while guys sort themselves out.
