I figured we were. Rather see more of our fans than EZU fans trying to take over the stadium.
I will always remember the last baseball series before covid vs ECU. No doubt the visitors took over the Hayes. Also recall Alec Burleson dominating which he does today for the Cardinals.
I had a meeting with AD folks Friday and asked if we were bringing in any extras seats and was told no we are not.
Those seats are expensive and likely would not pay for themselves while also allowing ECU fans to come in. Really need multiple games selling them to recoup the cost of rental and set up.
I too hope they sell single game tickets to season ticket holders first if allowed. I have a waiting list of Niners that want to come but canβt commit to the 3 game package unfortunately. I feel pretty confident that between this and student/guest tickets that would about sell the Rich out for the ECU game. There is definitely demand.
Good to know- thanks for sharing!
Yeah I would think first dibs will go to season ticket holders. I really think they are trying to keep purple out. ECU got their allotment, anything past that is going to be hard for them. Their fans that are complaining should give more money to their club so they had a chance to buy them.
Without them, our beer sales go down
Ezu should get NO MORE tickets than their allotment. NO MORE. I do expect some traitorous Charlotte βfansβ will scalp any tickets they get and so Iβll just say F*** them now.
I see your point, NA. However, I think youβre overestimating the reading comprehension skills of the standard Eastern fan.
You do realize that when you sell on Ticketmaster and such, you have no idea who the buyer is, right?
Duh! Yes. But my point is only that I want NINERS at this HOME game and as few ezuβers as possible.
Totally agree on that!
I donβt under the economics of putting up temporary bleachers. Why are they so expensive? Golf tournaments put them up all the time.
Not saying it isnβt possible but where would the bleachers potentially go if they ever did decide to add them?
Above the student section.
if my NCAA25 is to be trusted, put him up for the Heisman! lol
I cant find the costs I had from the App game. I will keep looking.
From what I recall the setup fee was pretty expensive, plus at least 3 days of rental. The rental isnβt that bad IIRC so to make the set up worth it it needs to be multiple games - which is why for App they had it up for 2 games. There was talk we would bring them in for Duke - but due to covid as state rules around crowd sizes they opted to not pursue it.
For golf tournaments those stands are almost always sponsored which I am sure more than pays for the stands.
For us I think we could probably get them and make some money maybe break even but it would open the stadium for more purple, so maybe they decided the little bit of money we would make isnβt worth the environment shift that would occur.
Or maybe they just decided the cash outlay isnt worth the risk and divert all cash to expansion?
Just guessing.
