The best thing that can happen is people tune out and walk away. I know thatās tough and too many people wonāt, but sports be it college or pro is not something we need. Itās not something our lives need itās not something society needs and itās not something that the university has to support or offer. People complain but then they support the thing they complain about. The reality is the power is our hands.

Yeah I dropped nba years ago but the pandemic taught me I drop the nfl without missing a beat.
Iām guessing a lot of presidents are afraid to pull the plug right before things shift to a new stable state. There are a lot of different ways things could go for these marginal programs, but once they quit, thereās no going back.
It was pretty eye opening during the whole UNCheat saga when they compared athletics budgets versus research grants there (and how crazy it was that they were putting accreditation at risk to protect the basketball program). I do wonder if thereās a tipping point of big universities quitting athletics that change the cost-benefit of keeping it going.

The one variable that needs to be mentioned is sports gambling. This new wild , wild west will most likely add viewership to games so the fans leaving on principal will be substituted for by a new clsss of degenerates.

So Alabama is in the Final 4 after losing most of their team and 3 assistant Coaches last year and completely rebuilt thru the portal and one season later F4. Yeah that should really help things moving forward!!

Great scouting and talent evaluation, the stars last night Sears/Pringle sp? were not superstars at lower levels Ohio/Woffordā¦. But wow, were they superstars last night.
Led them to first ever Final 4. Quite an achievement.

NC State is full of Graduate transfers and look where they are. Rosters can and will be rebuilt every year.
It is a little concerning we havenāt had any signings yet or even visits that we know of. The coaching staff needs to do their due diligence but on the flip side they cannot let other schools beat us to the punch in the portal. Maybe we even take a chance on an incoming freshman that could be an impact player. HS players are getting overlooked now.

I think at this point itās more about players choosing us instead of the other way around. Everyone is still shopping around to see how high they can go and how much they can get paid. It sucks but weāre towards the bottom of the food chain and all of the teams at the top havenāt even finished playing.
I do agree we should probably see what high school kids are available and maybe use 1 or 2 scholarships there since so many programs are overlooking them right now.
