Yes, but the SEC: 1) had 3 teams in the top 5, and 2) even when they lose, the pollsters refuse to drop them far. How far did Bama and UT slide? Still top 10. Those same losses would have dropped an ACC or Big 12 team to the bottom of the top 25 and knocked a G5 completely out.
