That was my initial reactionā¦ Buyouts are just too expensive anymore.
Itās a little insane to cut a coach loose in the middle of year three in a difficult conference like the SEC, especially when he has a track record of winning. Especially when the core is young and expected to be retained.
I donāt follow Floridas program closely, but I know their last coaching staff didnāt leave them in great shape.
The reality is that Napier has a track record of winning in the Sun Belt not the SEC. If not for the monetary ramifications of House, this would be his final season in Gainesville. All the fiscal stupidity is finally catching up. Will be interesting to see how many of the UF faithful respond by āmisplacingā their checkbooks etc.

20 mill is peanuts to SEC schools
$25M FB coach buyout + $20M AD buyout + initial $20M House NIL ends up being a quite a bunch of peanuts.
If boosters āwalk awayā in protest, expect a one-eighty by UF.
