clt says handball is underrated
Unlike all games in the past, I’m unusually uninterested in the Olympics this year. Maybe it’s just a sign of aging. In addition to all the politics and drama that seem to go along with them and most everything these days. Hope the US wins, but not really interested in watching any of it.

I haven’t had any real interest in the Olympics since the fall of the Soviet Union.
I knew Celine Dion and Lady Gaga were scheduled to perform at tomorrow’s opening ceremony, but just read that one of my “guilty pleasure” metal bands will on the bill as well. Woohoo!

Those were the good ol’ days. Nations boycotting Olympics for various political reasons. For me, I haven’t had much interest in watching the Olympics since Phelps went after all those swimming medals.
The end of the cold war took some of the edge off, but I still like specific sports, and I always like beating China.
BTW, the USWNT are basically playing a scrimmage match against Zambia right now. Already 3-0. Gonna get ugly I think.
Once McDonald’s stopped the “when they (USA athletes) win, you win” campaign, I lost a lot of interest

Rugby 7s is freaking awesome to watch.
With the talent we have in football I could see the US getting really good at sevens if we get a pipeline going.
