2025-26 49er MBB Game #10 vs Utah State 12/7 2PM ESPN+

Professional coaches have players under contract and have almost the full ability to keep anyone they want. These are not professional players

We don’t need overwhelming talent to get anything to work here. We need better communication between the players which is only possible the more they play together. Yesterday was the closest I’d ever sat for one of these games and the shear amount of confusion and yelling from player-to-player was so evident. People being in the wrong position for the pass, players intercepting a pass intended for another player, a player that was supposed to drive for a pass but came up to the three-point line which caused a turnover, players calling for the ball loudly but never being looked at. There’s just a lot of confusion when they’re on the floor. They need the continuity year-over-year

We do, it’s just one year contracts. There is no doubt these kids are professional bball players. They are getting paid and they have agents. There is no difference between CBB and the NBA except the NBA has real long term contracts w penalties, a real governing body and cap’s. We need to treat them as such. Guardrails and rules are needed or CBB will be ruined in 3 years. IMHO

I got paid during my masters research, did that make me a professional researcher or a student? I’d ere on the side of student

Yes, you can be both. You got paid to do research and not sure if you published or not but that makes you a research professional. If you are paying taxes, which you should be, you are a professional.

They are compensated players. One of these days there will be a CBA that will provide the so-called guardrails. Latter probably aren’t coming from Congress so either NCAA can do it instead or the courts will. And even if Congress does something, it will probably end up being litigated based on what’s been proposed so far.

clt says college sports are already ruined

Paid to play ball = professionals

Correct. They’re a really good team.

The problem I have with the game Sunday is we went out and spent $1.5 to $2 million to do what appeared to be a massive upgrade of our roster and still lost in pretty much the same way we lost to Utah State last year. And this time we played them at home.

I hate NIL and the transfer portal like we all do but I wish we would stop acting like we’re a pregnant nun.

The situation is not exclusive to us
