This will be only the second ever meeting with the Leopards, who last visited the QC almost 30 years ago.
Lafayette College is very similar to Davidson College. Both are private schools with historic ties to the Presbyterian Church, both founded in the early part of the 19th Century and named for generals of the American Revolution, and both with enrollments under 3,000 and endowments in excess of $1B. Of course, big difference in athletics, with Lafayette a member of the Patriot League in most sports with along with Army and Navy.

Lafayette is only 3-8 but they took a good Penn team to the wire their last game.
Penn has wins over St. Joseph’s and LaSalle.
We should prevail but a lackluster effort by us could spell big trouble.
Trivia - former 49ers coach Hal Wissel started his Division 1 coaching career at Lafayette.
I will be at this one. Its definitely a game we “should” win. They have a guard, Caleb Williams, that can really score, shoots the 3 well.
Good catch. I always associate Wissel as being the successor at Fordham to Notre Dame great Digger Phelps and forget about the former’s beginnings at D3 Trenton State and Lafayette.
And speaking of Fordham, see the Bronx Rams are 7-4 under new HC Mike Magpayo and former Niner assistant Kevin Smith. Coach Smitty & Co. have already signed 3 for 2026-27.
Damn I thought this was LA Lafayette. lol
See that this is the first part of a 2 game swing through the South for Lafayette, who will play at Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Leopards (3-8) are winless on the road at 0-5, including at Texas and West Virginia. As noted earlier, Lafayette lost by 2 at Penn last week and by 9 at Saint Joseph’s in their season opener. Leading scorer Caleb Williams (17.4 ppg) is a sophomore who was Patriot all-rookie last season and among just three real 3FG threats on the team. Has scored double digits in every game this year.
Anyone have 2 tickets they are not using for tomorrow’s game?
Must win! Haha
Could be empty with no students
Let’s beat the ragin’ cajuns and get revenge for the panthers.
Not the school you’re thinking about. ![]()
See previous posts. This school is in Easton, PA.
I thought the same thing.
Was thinking Lafayette would have to fly out of NYC or Philly but see that AA has 3 daily 2-hr non-stop flights from nearby Bethlehem to CLT. Of course, with a $1B endowment, may be chartering into Concord.
Just remembered that Temple is playing at Davidson at the same time, so it’s a de facto Eastern PA vs Mecklenburg County hoops showdown tonight. And, of course, Owls will return on the 30th to Halton for the beginning of league play.
Stats wise, we are playing a carbon copy of ourselves.
What is tonight’s crowd going to look like?
