2025-26 49er MBB Game #30 vs UAB 3•4 7:00PM ESPN+

Do we even practice end of game situations?

I can’t think of a team ever that collapses as efficiently as this one does. It’s uncanny.

We played good defense in first half, UAB is offensive challenged, but they were more athletic and hit FT’s (100%??).

We seem to struggle against athletic teams but we seem superior on the offense end, may be better off playing faster more possessions. Seemed to end up playing UAB style of play.

The crowd was extremely quiet on TV, was the crowd really small?

I’ll bet there are 3 or 4 asst coaches at Clemson better than Fearne. Please Kevin, put a stop to the never ending saga of Ron Sanchez

Associate HC Billy Donlon fired from both previous stints as a head coach - Wright State and Kansas City, respectively. He was Brownell’s successor at the former and did garner one Horizon COY award during his time in Dayton. No NCAAT appearances.

Dick Bender in his 40th+ year as a career long assistant and other lower level CBB positions. Second stint at Clemson after previous one as DOBO.

Sean Dixon was an assistant at his alma mater Presbyterian, as well as UNC Asheville and Middle Tennessee, prior to Clemson gig.

Just can’t finish. In so many ways.

Sounds like Fearne should be an assistant at Clemson

It wasn’t great but honestly more than I expected considering baseball was in kannapolis at the same time.
Decent student turnout but they just didn’t care. Alums aren’t much different. I, along with many others are just kind of present for games, never really that interested in the outcome.
There’s a tremendous amount of apathy for this program, it needs a hard reset

What do the red letters on Conyers jacket say?

Getting killed by our opponent’s offensive rebounding for several games now. The scouts have found a weakness and taking advantage. We aren’t good enough to overcome a large rebound differential.

Come up with at least 1 workable inbound play!

I have been done with Fearne since UTSA (which was the final nail) and last night was more of the same. We cannot finish a game to save our lives and I have lost count of how many games we have led comfortably and lost in the final 8:00 minutes.

We looked tired and confused as they came back. Had no plan and kept letting them get points in the paint while taking bad shots on our end. All this with White in the house talking to fans but also straight faced and unimpressed the entire night. That has to be it for Fearne, right?

Think it depends on whether White follows the respective examples of Clemson and Northwestern, both known for giving coaches quite a bit of leash, or not. Plus input from Gaber, Humphries, etc.

I can’t keep count of how many second half leads we’ve blown this season, too damn many for the talent we have on the roster. We had a great chance at getting a top 4 seed in the conference tournament and blew it.

And the trend continues… Get a sizable lead then all of a sudden midway 2nd half cant get a rebound, give up layup after layup, either throw it away or take bad shots on our end. First time I’ve noticed but didn’t look like the players cared last night. I’m old…Been going to these games since 1969. Harrisburg Elementary School gym. I’m not a coach but I can see when guys drive by you for layups over and over somethings missing on defense. And if they happen to miss a shot we aren’t in position for the rebound. Its been going on all year but its getting worse. Australian National Basketball League defense doesn’t work in todays college game. I’ve seen enough. Let me know when we get a new coach.

That unfortunate trend is rampant this season across all of college basketball. Really bizarre.

Bonke was gassed toward the end of the game and he was getting abused. Fearne pulled him

at the end and I thought he should have pulled him earlier. We gave up early good looks at the basket just to pass the ball around and take a bad shot. Also, Mingo made some really bad passes.
