It’s been happening to us for years. Blowing leads and long scoring droughts that lose the game for us in the last 10 minutes. It’s not a trend for us. It’s been a regular occurrence going back to Sanchez.
We essentially still have sanchez. Similar system. We need a clean break.
Yep, has been happening for years. I trace it back to March 18, 2005.
I have rewatched the first half of that game on youtube before….never the second.
Yeah unfortunately I remember that well
In my opinion this loss ended any rationale that could have been made for keeping Fearne. I was already in favor of making a change but acknowledged an argument could be made that a 4th place finish showed progress. That’s gone, let’s hope we can hold on to a few quality pieces for the next coach.
White is certainly familiar with blown leads as Clemson MBB relinquished a 22 pt second half advantage in a loss to BYU back in early December. Eerily similar to last night too as BYU had 22 second chance points (vs 20 for UAB). Biggest ever comeback by the Cougars in 120+ years of BYU hoops.

These stats are insane.
I was at least half joking about the fixing / intentional tanking before. That half is starting to ebb away. That’s too complete of a meltdown to not question it…
Sadly I’ve been thinking this too. The meltdown vs utsa was beyond rational belief. Outscored 31-9 to end that game? Ridiculous!!!![]()

It does make you wonder. Maybe we should get the fbi involved. It would honestly make more sense if we found out we were losing games on purpose.
In Clemson’s Jimmy V match-up with BYU in December, the Tigers held their largest lead of 44-22 with 18:30 left in the 2nd half. Over the next 15 minutes, BYU outscored Clemson 33-10 to take a 55-54 lead. Cougs increased it to 62-56 with just over a minute left, but allowed Clemson to go on an 8-2 run to tie things up before Robert Wright hit the GW 3 as BYU closed on a 45-20 run for the 67-64 comeback win.
Next is not an epic comeback but instead a total collapse by St. John’s in their recent Big East rematch with UConn. The Huskies avenged the earlier loss to SJU in NYC by demolishing the Red Storm 72-40 in Hartford. After trailing 41-26 at the half, SJU was outscored 31-14 in second for the worst ever defeat by a Rick Pitino-led St. John’s team. In fact, SJU didn’t hit any FGs during the last 17+ minutes of the game, missing 24 shots in a row all total down the stretch.
And, of course there were the respective 23 pt comebacks by UCLA vs Illinois and UNLV vs Boise State. Just been one of those seasons.
Unfortunately not head coach material. Just a bench coach and recruiter
This all comes down to coaching not the players. Coaches have no plan down the stretch!! Sad - time to find a coaching staff with high energy and one who knows how to use a lap board to draw up a play and protect a lead. Going 2-8 down the stretch is unacceptable. Time to clean coaching house.
