During the Tulane pregame, Matt mentioned UAB’s mediocre home record this season, including an abysmal 2-7 in conference play. (Of course, game vs Niners is technically on a neutral court since it’s at the Blazers’ former home Legacy instead of on campus Bartow.)
Given UAB’s 8-9 record inside Bartow Arena this season, Kennedy made sure to note that this weekend’s tournament will not count as a home setting. In fact, the head coach even joked about taking an exaggerated route to Legacy Arena in order to eliminate any of the Blazers’ poor home form from the regular season.
“We may drive the long way around,” Kennedy said. ‘We may go up through Gadsen and back down through Bessemer before we get to the BJCC to make them feel a little more of a road trip. We’re good on the bus. And hopefully we can make a run.

Not sure if 730 AM carrying our tournament games means anything long term or not. Definitely one of those things that White needs to attend to since WFNZ apparently “dropped” us as of the first of the year.
Freeman and Gomez out.
Slow down UAB and we need to pound the boards…need a big game from Bonke. He’s a lot bigger than most on UAB by 4-6 inches in height
Mingo gets so frustrated with Bonke…especially when he lobs it to him. He’s like never ready to go right back up.
UAB sure draws a crowd for a home tournament game.
Hopefully Niners never go “yellow” like UAB’s gold.
If Bonke is going to use a foul he CANNOT give up an And 1
Mading sighting…I like it!
Agreed! Wild to see that Reichert come in for all instances other than the tourney. Mading should’ve been more involved but that’s a broken record at this point
UAB is currently out working us after the 7-0 start
Richart is not good. With him and Elliott on the court it’s like having 2 players who can only score on a rebound. Other teams can really look to then double Mingo, Bradford, etc
100% go figure he gets extended minutes right after I say something lol
