There was nothing “power” about last season’s 7-24 Miami team. 
There was nothing power about Depaul either but we gave Oden cash.

Per UAB board, sounds like Djobet wasn’t making a very good impression during summer practice and the following seems to cooberate that:
Was going to make a snide remark about how UNT is helping raise the NET profile of the conference by scheduling EWU and UCA but then Robinson is facing same issue that Hodge and McCasland did in putting together an OOC sked. And, of course, the rest of the league sans UofM.
They have North, Central, and Eastern. They need to get Southern Utah and Western Kentucky into a bidding war to be the 4th directional school.
Looking at that last place prediction and everyones reaction here, trying to build the gap on why we think we will be so much better.
Losing Graves who would of been one of the top scorers in the league and his other intangibles like FTs at end the game. Of course that is normal these days to lose that type of production and have to replace it.
Fearne mentioned in that interview a couple months ago Blackmon being a key player, whom we saw a lot of last year. The Juco PG was also mentioned who didnt end up coming here.
The board is excited about the Guard from Marshall. The Norfolk state transfer looks like he is an active and long defender. Our AD Hill said we will have better shooters this year.
So how does everyone see these predictions being so far off?
We added a much better class. Proven scorers at d1, shooters, much bigger, snd much more athletic

Also - knock on wood - no injuries etc that most notably resulted in Oden missing the entire 2025-26 season and Nika being a shell of what he had been at ULM.
This past Sunday when incoming frosh Villar took a tumble late in the Eurobasket U18 title game and had to leave the court due to concussion protocols, my initial reaction was “Oh no! Not again! We’re cursed!” Fortunately he was OK and able to return and provide the assist on the GW shot for Spain!
Anyway, we should be considerably better than last year. Will be interesting to see where we land in legitimate preseason forecasts.

Just to take the counter point, Nika played a lot at end of year & was a starter and looked like he transferred to high up in competition. Seemed
like a recruiting/talent evaluation miss.
So who are the other you guys see in the starting line up this year?
In retrospect Nika shouldn’t have played at all last season as it was apparent he never fully recovered from his injury. Then add in the troubles in his homeland that are still ongoing and just ended up being a lost year. BTW, transferring to CLT didn’t equate to “high up in competition” last season.
My guess for starting lineup;
Mingo 6’4" 13ppg at marshall. Their best player
Harrison 6’5" 15.1ppg 40% from 3 last season
Mading 6’11" all meac defensive team
Butler 6’7" 1.5bpg. Really athletic and good on d
Conyers south carolina transfer. Had 3 double figure scoring games in SEC as a RS freshman. 6’7"
Off the bench:
Freeman 13.1ppg at siena
Blackmon came on really strong at end of year for us

I think Villar will get PT as well, especially since his Spain U18 teammate Platteeuw will likely start for Davidson.
Will we still operate that slow down, run the clock back door offense with this new line up?
The Ron/Fearne offense or will there be adjustments? We are like 7 years into it, time to adjust maybe, lets see.
