Blackmon kind of reminds me of Austin Butler. Hustle player from one end to another. I’m excited to see him play again
FYI - moved the discussion of Graves and NIL to the “49er MBB Players Leaving / Returning” thread since Nik is now an ex-Niner and will be playing in the Big East in 2025-26.
I’m excited to see what the team can pull together next year. Every day I see more and more people wearing Charlotte merch. When I was in middle school, I had no idea this school existed. I only found out about it when I went to the high school on campus. After that, many people in my life were shocked to find out we were even D1.
Our school is gaining traction in the area. Places like Moo & Brew are owned by alumni, the logo is on the Center City building, the light rail heads to campus, and our school was in the latest college football video game.
I say all of this because recruitment out of high schools in the local area is important. And although the ACC schools may always have brand recognition, we do too.
We’re an R1 institute, we play in the AAC, we are the third most attended university in the state.
clt says we should pass UNC CHeat next fall.
So do we know what the upcoming roster is going to look like? Do we still have scholarships available? Have we addressed the needs?
Our roster is set for next season. As I said in that thread, it’s an almost entirely new team. It’s the biggest season to season change I can ever remember, even given the many coaching changes we have had over the past 15 years.
If someone wants to update that list with average stats and former schools, it would be nice for reference. I thought the school would have updated the roster now that they’re all signed.
I really like the size of the team. I know that many of the transfers were good 3pt shooters too. I can’t wait for the season to get started and hopefully win some games this year.
We have 1 scholarship open and probably will add a pg. Our recent pg visitor committed to uconn
Was that visitor Millender?
Indeed
Going from starting PG in Indy to third string end of bench in Storrs for his final season of college ball. But he could be riding the pine for a possible FF squad.
Agree. I doubt he’d start here either but doubt he plays much at uconn
?, probably a good chance he would of started here!….Like whom do we have locked in as starting pg??
I am not that optimistic we had a good recruiting class, due to not really sure we won any significant recruiting battles, very similar to last season!…. But lets see until they start playing we dont know, maybe we found some diamonds in the rough.
No, Millender wouldn’t have started here. Mingo most likely first string PG for the Niners next season.
