I believe that the limit was supposed to be 105, so Charlotte complied with it. Other schools were well over that, so they ended up with a phase in schedule. That meant that the other schools didnāt have to kick people off the team, but by then, Charlotte had declined to accept some preferred walkons. They did add some extra preferred walkons in the last week, so they are over 105 now. I count 107.
Note that Albin hinted they might get #108, and the he would soon have news of some sort regarding Mitchell Mayes.
Has anyone found any Monmouth message boards? Iām curious to see what they think about the game. I have been unable to find anything. I canāt even find an updated CAA message board.
I, for one, think our defense is great. We will hold them to 10 points max. They are small, slow, not able to make open-field tackles, and the QB makes poor decisions. Their stats reflect the quality of their opponent imo
For anyone wondering about Brown and Rutledge from last game:
āWideout Sean Brown sustained a contusion during his catch and run in the UNC loss and is expected to be OK, but didnāt practice on Tuesday, according to Albin.
Running back Henry Rutledge is awaiting the results of an MRI for a lower-body injury after pulling himself after playing five snaps against the Tar Heels.ā
People think that Monmouth, not Montana, NDSU, or even A&T but Monmouth can beat us. The 3.5 point line also reveals the perception of our program with the casuals. Sorry but to me thatās bad. I know it can always get worse but thatās how weāre seen now.
It is definitely bad. Weāve done nothing yet to persuade people otherwise but for the first time, Iām confident weāre headed in the right direction
If you cant expect to handle an FCS squad then you arenāt a serious FBS program. Unfortunately after 13 years of playing football that is where we are.
I will say if the D plays like it did Saturday we should handle them. The offense though has to show something. I know the players might be limited but that means its on the coaches to get creative. The lack of use of the middle of the field baffles me.
