Biff isnât as good as a coach as Albin but I think biff is better in this new landscape of college football. Biff also has money and Albin doesnât. Biff brought in athletes and former studs in HSâŚAlbin brought in skinny JUCO players who are in over their head.

Not as much money as he claimed. If he did, and he hired well, he could have been successful. Plus if he had been able to open the doors to corporate donors but he actually drove some away. I think itâs crazy to give up on albin in year 1 with what he inherited. New AD needs to get to work opening corporate doors

Sorry for the rantâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ.The whole Biff and money narrative was driven by this board and the media because he ran a hedge fund and was mildly successful. To my knowledge he never responded to any of that. Second, he was hired to be a College Football Coach and to assist the AD in raising money, not his main job. Itâs the AD that is responsible for doing that. Third, please give me one example of a donor that Biff drove away, just one, I think itâs just something you read or heard. Your last statement, we need to open new corporate doors for money!. Thank you captain obvious. I am not saying MH did a great, but i have to think his team tried to break into accts, made the calls and had the meetings. I donât think any one on this board has an appreciation on how hard it is raising money from CLT HQâs when the C-Suites are filled with ACC grads and mostly UNC-CH grads. Do you not think the AD for the last 10 yrs have not been banging on the same doors? Christ, by our own admission, 75% on this board doesnât contribute to the collective. Maybe someone on this board should send in their resume to be AD, being full time donation executive, there seems to be some great experts and ideas here. I do 100% think Biff over estimated how easy it was going to be to get money here, itâs easy, Banks, Steel, Fortune 100 companies etc⌠On paper it looks like a gold mind. How many times have we heard CLT is a sleeping giant when talking about our school. I was proud of how the team fought for the first 2.5-3 quarters and then embarrassed that they quit in the 4th. I blame the coaches for the 4th quarter.
Loftis first quarter and half 11-14 for approximately 210 yards and 2 td. last 2.5 quarters 9-22 for approximately 80 yards and 42 came on one play. Once he got hit a couple times, he started hearing footsteps and panicking again and offense stopped. He missed wide open receivers downfield because he was panicking and threw out of bounds. Wide open receiver three yards in front of him and he misses him for the touchdown. Immediately when ball is snapped, he stares down one side of the field and never looks down the middle or the other side. Sean brown consistently was lined up as single receiver on other sideand single covered and he never even looked his way
I know we werenât the better team but tired of playing not to lose rather then playing to win. Twice itâs 4th and 1 and we punt but then do stupid thing of running same fake punt that we ran last week on 4th and 11 on our own 23 with one score game. I know our offensive line is beat up but we didnât run the ball one time on 3rd or 4th and 1. We passed every time.
We are trying to be too cute sometimes and outthinking ourselves. I know we want qb run as part of the offense but loftis is way too slow. How do you have 370 yards offense in 2.5 quarters and the 6 straight 3 and out.
Albin keeps praising his coaches but probably at least half of them should not be retained next year. We have already been through this with Healy, where he wouldnât replace coaches. Albin has earned more chances by showing he has a track record of success but this is probably the worst team we have ever had and we arenât seeing progression. With a new athletic director and consistent boos from the crowd and low turn out like tonight, his leash is shortening every minute
1-11 with a one touchdown win over a bad FCS team., What a season.

Correct, itâs difficult to open those corporate doors but thatâs why you need an AD who is connected in that world and one who is good at closing those kind of deals. Itâs the job of the AD to do that. Their most important job. Several reliable people have reported how biff pissed off some big donors who we had to win back. Not sure why theyâd make that up, nor do I understand the constant defending of biff on this board.
We hired an actual football coach and gave him bottom of the barrel resources and even then our injuries have been catastrophic. Not to mention it was late in the cycle because we actually hired a coach playing for a conference championship. The resources thing is why Hill is most likely not here now. Albin deserves a fighting chance.
As for Biff, canât wait to see him inducted to our hall of fame. His spot should be right next to Lutz.

When they left Loftis in, I turned it off. It was obvious to me that Charlotte wouldnât get another first down with him in. He played well early, but he was clearly done. Leaving him in at that point was doing him no favors, either. In the end, his QBR was 37.5 for the game, by far his best game. That gave him a big jump up to 16.7 for the season, and got him out of last place.
For the year, it is:
Harrell 38.6 (but was about 60 in his last two games)
Wilcke 34.5 (but was only 11.2 in his one start)
Loftis 16.7 (but was 37.8 in his last game)
In order to be not an embarrassment next yearâŚI donât think the starting QB is on the roster
Coaches love Loftis though, so we have to sit here and watch PTSD play out in real games. He looks great in practice so we hear, when the score doesnât count and he wears a red jersey.
Better be able to identify and recruit big sized talent up front on both sides of the ball and get some speed.
Our issues are on the O Line and D lines. Have to get AAC level line players. You can have great QBs, receivers and running backs but doesnât matter if line is a mess. Same goes for LBs and corners.
The reality is we have seen this movie time and time again. Good first half, and get our doors blown off in the second half. I donât know if that is because we donât adjust at halftime as well as others do, we are gassed and spit the bit after 30 minutes, we are very easy to diagnose with better halftime adjustments by the other teams or a combo platter of all. Whether its Healy, Poggi or Albin, it is the same old situation.
