See that UAB named OC interim instead of the AHC.
The Blazers will go more days without winning a road game than during the period the program was shut down (1,063 days).
See that Mortensen will make his HC debut vs Memphis. Ouch!
Protective Stadium sat mostly empty during home games. This season’s opener against Alabama State drew more visiting fans than UAB supporters, a particularly damning image for a program trying to establish itself in Birmingham, where Alabama’s shadow looms over everything.
BTW, wasn’t aware of this:
Years later, Dan Le Batard revealed that Dilfer had tried to negotiate private plane travel during contract discussions, arguing that Kirk Herbstreit had one. The issue was that Herbstreit needed private travel because ESPN’s schedule sometimes required him to be in multiple cities on the same day. Dilfer apparently just wanted the perk.
clt says that is not unreasonable. all they can do is say no.
Well +1 for us, we got out of our bad “out of the box” hire earlier than they did.
They have more problems than we do, they have to compete against Alabama game, Auburn game and other Big SEC game of the week. But Alabama/Georgia recruiting territory much deeper than what we have.
We’re so back on linear TV baby
clt wonders if politics will be in play with a decision to host game day in memphis
*not a political post
“I don’t even know what to say because there’s nothing to say” took over 4 1/2 minutes to say! ![]()
Watching ECU and Tulsa on espn tonight, I sure wish we played Tulsa this year. Their receivers can’t catch cold!
And yet they do have 2 TD passes.
They started 2-9, last TD pass was a shovel pass for a 4 yard score. That said, I hope they find a way to beat the snot out of EZU
Sorta like having company in the conference cellar. That way we’re not a singular worst.
