In fairness to them, I really do think this is an issue. If the game is going to be about force feeding 2.5 hours of commercials into a 4 hour window, who wants to sit in a stadium for that?
I’m still pissed off that the clock changes to “shorten” the 4 hour games were a lie - the games are still 4 hours, we just get way more commercials and a lot less football.
I went to the Elon-Villanova game last Saturday…half the time spent with commercials…1.45. I know, FBS v FCS, but these stoppages are unbearable…but understandable because of the loads of money thrown at the P2 has to be found somewhere.
But it’s the classic arms race fallacy… When is it enough?
The programs could all agree that the commercial breaks are killing attendance, and take less money…
Who am I kidding? The sport is screwed. Money is ruining it.
The ESPN games suck, commercial breaks ruin the flow of the game.
clt agrees. without gambling it would be in serious trouble
Amen to less commercials. They kill the momentum of the game and if you are in the stadium 3 minutes seem like 10.

Not exactly making Marvin Ridge HS proud on that attempt.
I don’t think game length and commercials have anything to do with it.
it’s attentions spans, lack of interest in sports, wanting to get back to a place they can all drink, etc.
Tulane game was a wild game, slow but ended exciting. Army had it but Tulane just knows how to Win.
Amazing catch to win it.
A fan base that might be more miserable than ours right now:
They had a great case to host GameDay next weekend.
Wow.
So much for Gameday going to Memphis.
clt says that is awful announcing. no awareness or enthusiasm
