Baseball season is finally here!! We have a good matchup to start the season hosting Northeastern. They are picked to finish 3rd in the CAA behind UNCW & College of Charleston.

Northeastern has a player on the Golden Spikes Award Watch list: Alex Lane.
3rd team All-American last year and set program record with 80 RBI

Interesting note, Northeastern is coached by Mike Glavine, the younger brother of Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine. Maybe we will see him at the Hayes this weekend.

I feel like we have lots of depth on this team and multiple players can play multiple positions. Letโs see who hits.

Gonna be a helluva log jam at DH !
I hope our hitting improves over last year. We seemed to be down on average and total bases. Didnโt have those long ball hitters from a few years ago. Fingers crossed for a great season. Looking forward to tomorrow.

They are evidently very good. They won the Colonial last season and made the tournament. Good series to start the season.
Actually, last year CofC won the Coastal regular season title and UNCW the league tournament. Both made the NCAAT.
Northeastern finished 3rd in regular season but eliminated in 2 games in the Coastal tourney held at UNCW. They did get invited to the 2023 NCAAT.
OK, why is there an extra (orange) bag at first base? I must have missed some rule change in the off season.
Yep, new this year in college. SEC used it during their tournament last year.
My bad skipped a year. Getting old. But they are a deceptively good program.
