Big shut out win. Szturma pitched a great game and solid bullpen work. The hitting was good last night also. I hope we get healthy soon.

Great all around win against a quality opponent. They are competing at the top of CUSA and had an RPI in the 50s.
Impressive performance from Szturma. Maybe we see him jump into the Sunday starter role down the stretch? He will definitely be a part of the puzzle come tournament time.
Bullpen allowed only 1 hit and 0 walks to close out the final 2.
Offense started slow but came to life in a big way. Hopefully nights like that will build some confidence heading into the weekend.

Hopefully Poteet is back behind the plate soon! Gunderson has done a good job stepping in, but Poteet is as good a catcher (particularly on defense) as we have had in a while.

Between the two teams, about 4 instances of getting the leadoff guy on and failing to bunt him over to second base. For sure, cost a run in the bottom of the seventh and probably in the bottom of the first. Of course, FAU bunted their’s over once and still didn’t score. These pitchers are DY-NO-Mite.

Blake Gillespie has been absolutely phenomenal! Another complete game and shutout. Gillespie is as good as we have had in a very long time. We have had some good pitchers over the years, but I put him up there with Adam Mills.

Good call!! It worked out perfectly in the 8th for us. Great execution by Poteet. We broke through and then everything opened up.

Wyatt Hudepohl also comes to mind. He was a horse too.
Do all these SEC teams just have Gillespie’s and Hudepohl’s middling in their bullpens?? Great portal success stories for us. You can go from being lost in an SEC bullpen to coming here and becoming a stud.
