With the win tonight, Niners need one win or one USF loss to clinch second seed for the tournament

Gillespie should have locked up the AAC Pitcher of the Year last night.
Gillespie 2.53 ERA, 118 K, 6-4, 3 CG
Beard (FAU) 2.93 ERA, 113 K, 7-0, 0 CG
AAC Games Only STATS:
And a no-hitter to his credit!
I think we have clinched either 2nd or 3rd. If we can hold on to 2nd, I think that would put us up against Rice on Tuesday. Any CLT win or USF loss clinches that.
We finish 3rd, that leaves us playing either Eastern or Tulane again.
Either way, UTSA is on the other side of the bracket and we would not face them until the championship if both make it that far.
Gillespie will likely pitch Tuesday since we limited him to 50ish pitches last night. Carson is probably not available until Thursday after last night.
After trailing early against Asheville, the Niners have now outscored the opposition 40-0 as of the seventh inning tonight.
Definitely have found their groove. Going for 8th straight win right now. Especially impressive considering CG has been out for several weeks now.
Only thing trending down continues to be JT. I suspect we will need him to perform next week.

Anyone think with this strong finish, that if we at least make the championship game that the selecttion commitee will at least take notice, or too many bad loses ?
RPI up to 60. I think that’s still too much ground to make up but we’re in the conversation.
SEC probabby gonna suck up every available at large bid .
I think if you flip the series vs ODU, USF, and Rice, you’re right there. Then if you get one at Arkansas, you’re in great shape. But it is what it is. Only one thing left to do…
Win the whole freaking thing.
Works for me !
One thing I have noticed this weekend is that Tulane has a beautiful baseball stadium. Plenty big to host regionals. They only need a little more shade for those hot NOLA afternoons. Hoping we can keep the bats this hot for Clearwater.
