Guys are playing great !
When is our staff gonna realize the damn shift SUCKS and play regular baseball ?
Exactly…baseball coaches love to “outsmart” the other guys and yes, i know lots of programs/teams are going heavy on the analytics…but its often times infuriating.
The team is playing head-to-head with the #4 team in the nation. We have looked very competitive so far and could easily have been tied in the series. Hitting has been very good and pitching solid except for that one big inning on Friday. Hoping we can get a win tomorrow.
Agree this has been a fun team to watch so far this season. You can see the long term potential here. Love the tenacity JT has shown on the mound. When you see the re$ource$ we are up against we have been very competitive. Let’s get one today. I feel very positive about the rest of the season.
clt loves us plus the runs today
We’ve been struggling with this team all weekend!
Could look at it like Charlotte is playing good baseball and being competitive with us. It is good for us for development to get ready for SEC play.
Our hitting approach is showing so much progress this weekend. Charlotte pitching is pretty good too. They know how to pitch with location and changing speeds.
Tip of the hat to their pitcher, gave them a great start
Love that shift…
We are battling thats for sure.
Damn.
clt says we can compete with anyone. time to go on a roll
The thing about the shift is that you really only notice it when it doesn’t work.
I only recall seeing it work ONCE in three years !
Proud of the effort all weekend by the guys !
Things looking up !
Im not a big fan of it, but it worked once today.
Ya’ll ain’t paying attention if up think shifting the infield works less often than not.
Nothing is going to work 100% of the time.
Anyway, nice to see us compete well against a good team in a hostile environment.
I usually count about 2 or 3 plays a game where the shift has taken hits away from the opponent. Nothing better than to see a line shot up the middle and our second baseman or SS standing there behind second to field it on one hop for the easy out.
There is a reason MLB banned it. It works.
Similar to last weekend, every game could have easily gone either way. Proud of being competitive with a top tier national team who has plenty of resources for baseball.
I wonder how their payroll compares to the Oakland/Sacramento/Las Vegas A’s?
It absolutely worked in MLB because players for the most part, have one swing and MLB pitchers can consistently throw to a spot to make it effective.
I’ll start charting to see how effective it is for us the rest of the way and hope I’m wrong.
I’m assuming Dante Defranco has left the team ?
Unfortunately for everyone, I think we can make that assumption.
