They are really trying hard to make this song our song. Playing after third quarter all last season.
I dont mind country music, but this song just doesnt have the “it”. Wish they would stop.
I keep saying if you have to put up the words for the sing along, you picked the wrong song.
Also as an urban school - not so sure a country song should be our song. And I say that as someone who likes some country. Just not sure it captures who we are.
Lots of great AC/DC or Metallica options. I’m okay with the Revival song but I understand it’s not something everyone likes. But nothing will be something everyone likes.
I realize I’m a dinosaur, but they can run out to “Mary had a Little Lamb” as long as they hand their opponents their asses! This is FOOTBALL, not the Global Awards, or whatever. Just kick their butts!
I get that but man go to VT and see the impact of Enter Sandman or Zombie Nation at Penn State. This weekend I was talking to a Bama grad who talked about how singing dixieland delight is her favorite part of every game.
I like the Revival song and the crowd seemed to respond to it. The main thing is to stick with something or it can never be iconic to us. Don’t need to change every year.
I do agree with this, but I also think if you hit on something that fits it catches fairly fast - especially if its a known tune. Thats what happened with Jump Around and Wisconsin and Zombie Nation and Penn State.
If it catches this year cool. If not, then time to switch it up.
I also don’t care. I also very rarely attend games anymore, so my opinion doesn’t really matter. They turned football into a made for TV product with all the game stoppage for ads and replay, so I prefer to just watch it on TV now.
But when we start winning big it will be a different atmosphere and worth the trauma of all these losing years. I think the winning comes sooner rather than later. But, of course, I am the eternal optimist.
The ECU win last year was a nice preview of what it can be to have a great tailgating atmosphere AND winning football. It makes a huge difference.
I am all for a great opening song to get the team and fans hyped up when they run out. I don’t know what the answer is…but so far what we’ve tried hasn’t “clicked” yet in my opinion. I am also old and lame so I don’t know what the average student likes anymore.
I would like to see us go with AC/DC Thunderstruck when the team comes out of the tunnel. But, instead of the crowd yelling thunder the crowd would yell Niners.
