We have the perfect situation to play them. Itās after one of the biggest games of the year, itās an early kick, and itās the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.
That being said this is many bridges too far. I would rather schedule games that could be winnable depending upon the year (South Carolina, Indiana, Illinois etc) than the perennial juggernauts (Ohio St, GA etc).
Recruiting is mostly cash now. So not sure how much weight that carries anymore and a lot of players want a chance to play in those big environments anyway.
And fwiw Iāve talked to a lot of folks who still reference us nearly beating Tenn or being in it vs USC - both niners fans and non niners. Most donāt know or recall we played buffalo in a bowl game.
App built the majority of their fanbase over a single win vs Michigan. That did more for them than their FCS titles or their bowl games.
Itās tough, cant turn down p4 h and h, we need the cash for the body bag game and building rivalry with app all is needed.

ECU alum here coming in peace. To be honest you guys are playing Georgia at a preferable time during the season. The worst thing you couldāve done is have that scheduled for game one and have your team beat to a pulp. Thereās a reason they coined the bama effect after other P4 conference teams played them game one because they seemed hungover for a couple games. The only way this game impacts your season negatively is either if youāre sitting with 5 wins thus making the Tulane game more difficult the next week or by extension are in contention for the conference championship race in which case scenario one also applies.

What are peopleās biggest concerns at this point:
- No concerns
- Not enough talent
- Top players are good enough, but not enough depth
- Too many changes, not enough time to implement
- New systems wonāt work in the AAC
- Too many new players to build a good culture
- Schedule is too hard
- Albin is over-hyped, and regardless of results, people will be disappointed
- Will be hard to adapt the offense to different skill sets of the QBs and Rbs
- Many concerns, or concerns not mentioned

Iād say concerns not mentioned. I think the team will gel, but it will take time. Also, qb play is of slight concern. Not sure we have a bonafide number 1. WR top end talent too. Think we have depth but not a lot of proven top guys outside of brown
My $.02
- Difficult Schedule
- Meshing (takes time)
- Lack of Depth
- Specific position weaknesses, especially K/P which might cost us a game or two.
I think all but #1 are things we can overcome. I worry that #1 is going to end up dictating the success of our season. We almost need a couple of teams on the schedule to be massive busts.
FWIW, I donāt imagine that āNo Concernsā means anything like āUndefeated Seasonā. Rather, to me it means that the team will be satisfactory for the circumstances, with no glaring problems.

College sports are so fluid now that I simply donāt have concerns because I donāt even know what we have anymore. Iāll just wait for the season to play out and hope for the best. I canāt keep up with all the player changes year to year.

I donāt really have concerns because I really donāt have any expectations. I honestly just enjoy going to the games, seeing old friends and having a good time. If we win itās a bonus.
Iād love to beat App though just because I have a lot of friends that went to app.
