When does our spring game date usually get announced?
One, absolutely would love to have Carl join us at a tailgate this fall! You never know who will show up and hang out. Chris Reynolds and other former football players, Walker Mehl and other media folks, Bobby Lutz, Jeff Mullins as well former players like Leemire and Jarvis, current coaches like Will and Biff would stop and chat, AD staff, big donors like Gene Johnson and BoT members like John Bailey and Dennis Bunker - just a great environment. We also welcome visiting fans so we have had some great stories. And if you have kids we are kid friendly with a lot of kids running around.
And two thank you so much - that has always been our goal at our tailgates. Anyone and everyone is always welcome to join us. I am glad that is how you have felt.
I have no idea where we are tailgating this year - for one year construction is going to displace us. Will be working with the AD on a temp location for this season.

Thanks to everyone for the repeated invitations. I do hope to get there for a game this fall. As for kids, my boys are ~30, but sadly, no grandkids. I’ll try to schedule something as we get closer. BTW, what sort of TV deals does the AAC have?

Do you have season tickets to the Ohio games?
Basically all of our games can be seen on ESPN sources.

No, I’m a long way from there as well. I plan to try to make a game in Athens this year, too.
As fro the Spring game, Albin did not hold actual Spring games at Ohio. They were mostly just glorified scrimmages. He might do differently at Charlotte, idk.
I went the Spring “game” once. Most boring thing I’ve ever done

Last year Poggi ran an offense vs defense scrimmage where we didn’t call a single run play.
It’s just an excuse to tailgate and maybe see the new QB, etc.
The AAC TV contract is pretty solid for a G5 league. A good number of the games are broadcast on their networks, and almost all games are Saturday time slots (sorry, no midweek MACtion). The games that aren’t on an ESPN network are all on ESPN+.
Is it really big for Ohio to be hosting West Virginia next season? You guys have a very tough non league slate!!!

Spring game is always fun - but its really just tailgating with folks I havent seen in awhile. The actual spring game is pretty much boring - but I will say, anyone that went last year was walking out thinking Purdie was gonna end up playing alot.

IIRC, there was a comment here that we might not have enough players to have a “Spring Game”. Has that been resolved?
I would guess we will have a spring event either way. With a new coach the excitement will be high and with ticket sales going well they will want to get as many people around as possible.
Biffs first spring game they had him out walking around talking to different groups of folks. I would guess we would see something similar.
I am right on top of the hill from you. I don’t think I will be displaced but maybe there is a way to get you up near us. Good luck. I am sure the AD department will help.
