7 inning game originally scheduled for 10. They stopped because of impending rain/lightning.
The team looks like its rounding into shape. Nowhere near as good as the last few years, but nowhere near as bad as I thought we would be. Surprisingly, we have a few decent looking freshmen to go with a motley group of transfers and five holdovers.
As someone who attended Gaston College, it’s wild to me that they have sports teams now.
I attended Gaston college in the early 70s and we had sports then and they were good, especially basketball. We beat crapple hole’s jv team. Leonard Hamilton played for Gaston. Our baseball teams were pretty good too.
They were the Braves back then, right?
No. Warriors. Before that, Rebels. Now, Rhinos.
Don’t like seeing South Carolina on the schedule. I was hoping to totally ignore them for awhile. IMO, we are far and away overscheduled. Even our conference schedue is repleat with away games against the top of the league. That’s a payback for last season, when those teams had to come to us.
Isn’t scheduling a game with the Niners a stipulation in a CLT contract if a coach resigns to accept a position at another school?
Of course, no UVA on the men’s basketball OOC this season, so apparently that can be “weaseled” out of.

I’ve gotten a little behind on posting our softball countdown. We are down to 23 Days until the season gets underway. I’m somewhat disappointed that it appears we will not have a preseason function like we’ve had the past 2 seasons. Anyone heard otherwise?
