The arms race is going to bankrupt all but a few of those programs. How they don’t all see it coming is beyond me.
I wouldn’t spend too much time or energy worrying about the SEC money wise. They pretty much print their own, they’ll be more than ok.
Hell, when my youngest kid was touring schools and we went to Auburn. The guy leading the tour took us to the new student center and told it was 85 mill initially. Laughed and said heck we’ve gotta spend that ESPN money on something. That was 7 or so years ago
Honestly, thats not THAT much. Our student union cost $65 million in 2009.
Pretty sure ESPN didn’t pay for ours! ![]()
Ok, I thought it was more a statement on the expense……but you’re probably right now that I read it again.
(N)ot a single member of LSU’s Board raised any concerns about Brian Kelly’s 10-year contract, or the buyout terms, when they voted to approve it in 2021.
From part 1:
While some high-level searches are focused on the aforementioned power conference head coaches, others have already bypassed that group and locked in on the next tier of names, largely from the American conference (Tulane’s Jon Sumrall, South Florida’s Alex Golesh, Memphis’ Ryan Silverfield and North Texas’ Eric Morris), but also Bob Chesney from James Madison and Charles Huff from Southern Miss.
And part 2:
Of the 23 coaches hired in 2022, Freeze was the seventh to be fired, with Kevin Wilson (Tulsa), Ryan Walters (Purdue), Troy Taylor (Stanford) and Biff Poggi (Charlotte) not even making it to Year 3.

Silverfield to Arkansas is a done deal.
He will get fired with a buyout in ~3 years. Enjoy!
