I think losing Blackwell made the spot available for Gomez, is that right?
I think we replaced blackwell with villar
Yep, it’s been 2+ months since Blackwell flipped to UTEP.
Gomez has been playing hoops on the Mediterranean island of Menorca, so the QC is going to be quite the change of scenery.
In trying to find out who the team sponsor Hestia (a Greek goddess) is, my search initially landed on an American tobacco company but then realized the affiliation is with a healthcare provider based in Barcelona. Closer to home, a restaurant in Ballantyne!
Gomez’s Spanish team “thanking” him for his time with the club.

Gomez with now former Hestia teammate and one time Niner recruit Jalen Cone of Walkertown, NC.
Looks like our roster will ever be changing from year to year, but am beginning to get excited from what I’ve seen on paper for this years team.
Anyone know who left to create the spot?
No one. We had an open spot

I’ll have to admit to some confusion. There are 16 players on the roster and the House settlement set the limit for MBB at 15.
I think some players are grandfathered in for this year, but admittedly, i don’t entirely understand the ruling
clt says we are playing under outback rules.

Had been thinking that “grandfathering” applied to those within sports that lost rosters spots as of July 1 but upon further reading, seems to be applicable across the board.
Anyway, see that ECU also at 16 while Rice has the largest MBB roster at 17. Everyone else in the AC between 13 and 15.
See that Jaylen Cross played 3 minutes off the bench in the Deacs 89-70 exhibition win at East Tennessee last night - 2 pts and 1 reb.
BTW, leading scorer for Wake was former Rice player Mehki Mason with 24 pts. Wazzu transfer Nate Calmese had 12 assists.
Cross a DNP in Wake’s 88-74 win over American U.
17 assists! Niners contacted the Columbia, SC hoopster who began at Wake Forest before spending past couple of seasons at Jacksonville.
