2026-27 Niners Basketball 🏀

See that the annual Larry Shyatt Clinic for basketball coaches is being held this week in Barnhardt. (Nowadays just about the only time P5 coaches set foot in Halton!)

For decades, Larry Shyatt has gathered some of the most respected minds in the game, NCAA coaches, NBA coaches, assistants, scouts, and basketball personnel, in a room where the only agenda is making the game better.

My understanding is we are going to have a name on our court soon…

I hope it’s a sponsor. I wouldn’t put a coaches name there

That sounds like additional revenue. White putting in work.

The Fort Myers Tip-Off field was announced on Wednesday, with Charlotte Men’s Basketball traveling to Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College for the annual event.

The six-team Palms Division features the 49ers, Davidson, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, Northern Iowa and American foe Tulane. Charlotte will face FGCU on Monday, Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. before finishing the event against NIU on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m.

To clarify, while Davidson and Tulane will be participating, we will not play either.

Am I wrong in wanting at least 10 wins from that schedule?

I’m seeing 7-8 likely wins.

If we only go 7-5, then I politely suggest that we made a bad hire and wasted our NIL money.

We need to stop making excuses. We have a team that is expected to be very competitive in the American. That should be good for at least 9 wins against a schedule that features 8 teams that were worse than #190 last season, and two more that were worse than #110.

Could be around 10 likely wins depending on who final 2 OOC foes are.

Guessing a couple of exhibitions as well.

Can we not get a complete season schedule by now? This piecemeal crap is annoying as hell.

I forgot that we played 13 non conference games last season. I guess 14 is normal now.

But in that case we had better win 10 games. The schedule as it is, is fairly soft.

I would hope 9 or 10 wins if we are competing for AC

Yes, this. I don’t expect to, but no reason we can’t run tge table ooc

New AD. New Coach. New court? I think a refresh would be nice. :+1:

Realistically conference is probably all that matters but I would like to see us hit double digit wins in noncon. Although if Wes wants to go winless in that and then undefeated in conference play I’ll accept that trade-off

It is past time for the American to be a multi bid league, and we need to do our share.

Exactly. This idea of only march beingimportant needs to stop.

I think 8-9 non-conference wins is a fair expectation, 10 would be great!

I don’t think we’re competing for an at large bid this season. We all should expect a much more competitive team this season with that translating to a lot more wins and hopefully bigger things next year and so on.
