Iāve not posted my reactions, generally because thereās nothing I can add to the much deserved criticismsā¦that was a depressing game.
There were some bright spots, it seems to me, but I canāt determine if theyāre bright because of the competition or something to feel confident about. Offensively, this is a better team. Gonzalesā three terrible throw (1st interception, missing two WIDE open receivers in the endzoneāone to tie the game in the final OT) are a serious concern. But I do think the offense is better. Defenseā¦tackling was not good, but it wasnāt always bad either. No turnovers is a concern.
For me, okā¦I walked out absolutely disgusted, but I go back to my prediction at the start of the season (of course, I expected to beat the Citadel)ā¦we wonāt know what we have until the App gameā¦that still holds true I think. Last season Army lost to a FCS in the first game, thatās as defending American Conference champs!
Soā¦take the ass-whooping and money from Ole Miss, prepare for Appā¦if we suck as bad as some think, App will tell us. There are no excuses for last Saturday night, I vowed walking out to not step back inside the stadium until the Niners win a gameā¦that could be this season, maybe next year, I donāt know, but I still think win or lose the App game is a critical indicator.
