Ten losses in a row is insane! Never seen a coach survive this kind of season based on the expectations of the program.
Exactly…..10 losses in a,row in baseball at this level is actually pretty tough to do……sad.
I could coach them to 10 loses in a row and I don’t know shit. This is a coach who has given up.
It was 9, which had happened three times before (02, 04, 12) by my count in the baseball media guide. There was also a 10 game winless streak at the beginning of 2014, a tie occurred in game 6 of that stretch.
Well…..Woodard finally set a record.

Finally…..a miracle occurs and we win a game again
That’s a pretty good win regardless of what happened in the disastrous run before today. It’s now or never time to get hot. If we can have our starting pitching not get chased early we can hit the ball around

And Woody gets his 200th win after a llllloooooonnnnngggg wait. Great to see the post game celebration.
I’m sure he wanted to get this sooner, but congrats to Coach Woodard.

3 great relief appearances this weekend to keep us in games.
AJ Camp on Friday: 5.1 IP, 107 pitches, 2 ER, 7 Ks
Chase Carson on Saturday: 5.1 IP, 97 pitches, 3 ER, 2 K
Adam Stanton on Sunday: 7.2 IP, 118 pitches, 4 ER, 3 K
Starting pitching continues to be like a box of chocolates, though.
Combs did OK in more of an opener role on Saturday. Copper had been our most consistent starter and had his worst performance this weekend. Winter did not record an out in his start, after several successful relief appearances of late. The inconsistency is killing us. We’ve now tried 11 different starters this season.
For the record: The school record for longest winning streak is 11 and we’ve accomplished that twice in program history. Most recently under Coach Woodard.
