2026 Baseball Week 11: vs Campbell (49ersTV); at FAU (ESPN+)

But we have never ever ever been a program that consistently dances. Half of the postseason wins in our history have been under Woody. I think we’re overestimating how good our program is historically

Seriously? We got Woodard to supposedly improve the program, make tourneys, host regionals, et …,not stay exactly where we have always been.

We have had more good seasons with our previous coach (Hibbs) who we “canned” under Mike Hill’s watchful eye.

Woodard has underperformed with what should have been good teams. He has proven that he cannot recruit good pitching top to bottom. We and the players deserve a much better head coach.

This place pretty much reads like a NC State board these days.

I know some posters are super “close” to this team and coaches. I do admire your loyalty to the coaches, in spite of their very underwhelming performance, especially over the last 3 seasons…I dont think RW is terrible by any stretch, but I also think 7 years with only 2 bids (one at large) is probably enough data to see what we have. Plus, 2 of the last 3 under .500 is certainly not a good trend. Maybe being above .500 overall is “enough” for some people.

Do you think we’re made of money? We’re not going to fire a coach who has 35+ wins in four out of the last 5 seasons up to this point. I’ve watched most of NNN clamor for keeping Fearne. A guy was pushing a full decade in being at Charlotte.

I try to live in the middle and offer constructive criticism. 100% pitching needs a rebuild. I do agree our arms have never been good enough outside of a few one offs here and there.

But what do you think this program is? We’re so far off from ECU. We only have 7 regionals all time. Our average RPI is sub 70 I believe since woody took over. I think our current goal is 1 regional every 5/6 years.

Read my first post genius…I said are there any reasons BESIDES financial to keep him. The other things you list are just more excuses as to why we can only aspire to be the same as we have always been…mediocre…if you think our GOAL is one tourney every 5 or 6 years, that is pathetic and BTW, I can guarantee RW does not agree with that stated goal.

This is such a tired message board trope. I’m not even going to argue with you, Uville. Your posts are full of inaccuracies. I’ll just let you continue to scream into the abyss here on the Internet. It’s cheaper than therapy, I suppose.

What are your expectations? I can count on one hand the Mid-Major teams that make yearly regionals that fall into our category. ECU’s number 1 assistant makes more than our HC. Dallas Baptist, UNCW, etc.. don’t count. They don’t have football to deal with. And it can’t be coastal Carolina. They value baseball more than football/basketball at that school.

The AAC is the 5th best league and we’re staring at two times making a regional if we’re lucky. UTSA coach has one Regional/Super in the last 7 years. USF has one regional since 2019. Wichita State hasn’t made a regional in 18 years.

It’s simply not that easy. I’m a diehard college baseball fan. I’m all for ECU level of success. But I need to see you some cutting some checks to get us there.

Gotcha…if you expect more than 1 regional every 5-6 years you’re an idiot…wonder why you didn’t address ALL my inaccuracies or maybe just a few since theyre apparently so obvious…is it that we ARE on a good 3 year trend, is it that RW really does just have a goal of one tournament every 5-6 years? Which of those are “so inaccurate” ? Please educate me since you are so much smarter and use words like “trope”…very impressive. …Also, I assume you are satisfied with the last 3 years and agree that is the best little ol’ CLT baseball can be.

You have no idea what I think. Unfortunately, you simply aren’t worth the keystrokes. You just like arguing. Maybe go outside and find a fence post. It’ll listen to you.

I mean we get 200 ish fans in for a game. We’re absolutely not a program that should expect a regional every year, we never have been and never will be unless we massively up our spending. I would venture to speculate that we have overperformed the majority of years in conference play relative to our budget. Wouldn’t be stunned if Wichita, USF, ECU and other AAC programs are all spending SIGNIFICANTLY more on their baseball program than us.

Ok. Give him one more year. That will help those of you concerned about financials. However, if we have the same old crap record will we all agree it is time to move on. I personally think we can do much better with a better coach with an eye for pitching. Pitching gets you to the regionals and gives you a chance to win.

About those of us cutting some money. I think that is a little out of line. Many of us on this board have endowed scholarships for our favorite sports. We are, however, tired of the incessant losing and poor performances by our coaches and paid players. That is the real issue.

Blah, blah, blah…and you have no idea what i think or who I am either, but it sure doesn’t stop you from running your mouth.

Insightful comment

Truth hurts, huh…for the record, I hope the team turns it around and wins every game the rest of the year. I would LOVE to be wrong about this group.

You come on here and consistently throw cheap shots in for years at the only people on the planet that cover the team. At least we could get your true colors really showing today. Congrats on being different I guess

Shots… really? Replying to "shots " taken at me only.

Everybody knows what you think. You’re in here losing your mind every game. But whatever, man. You do you.

Nope…Just post about the game, im not losing anything. You apparently are in here “every game” if you know what/when I’m posting… You should be glad there are any of us left that care enough to still follow and pull for this program. No matter what you think, I pull for every 49er team, but no its certainly not life and death.
