Hibbs final 8 seasons as Niners skipper were a roller coaster of equal winning and losing years and no NCAAT appearances.
And after 6 full seasons under Woodard, the last 3 will almost certainly have nothing close to an NCAA bid, one missed conference tournament and 2 of those last 3 years with losing records…as of today, RWs record over the last 3 seasons stands at 80-79, which is about as mediocre as it could be…im still pulling for him to get things going though.
Loren Hibbs was not fired. He left our program to take a job at his Alma mater.
Listen man. You have very rarely ever had anything positive to say about this program over the past several years , even when we are winning. You are the first to point out any shortcomings we may have and the first to let everyone know that we are losing a game if we give up a run. This is why I choose not to engage with you for the most part. It is a waste of time. I just don’t enjoy being miserable all the time.
You are too funny. Also clueless about me. I was pulling for this team and program before you probably ever heard of it or stepped foot on campus. You dont get to decide how I or anyone else supports their Alma mater but I will put my school support (for all of our teams) up against yours any day… Man.
Congratulations! You are older than me so I’m sure that means you have much more knowledge of the program than I do. The next time you make it out to the Hayes, come find me. I’ll buy you a beer and you can tell me all about the stuff I’m missing.
No thanks, my knowledge of Charlotte sports obviously could never compare to yours…BTW, how’s that podcast coming along these days?
As compared to your witty comments…you guys win, I give up…you guys are buddies with the baseball coach…you clearly know everything and no one else can have any variation of opionion. I’m out. Congrats.
Right… Keep believing that.
I will because that’s the truth. He was under a 1-yr extension since Mike Hill had just got here. Now 2020 was going to be a prove it year for him. The WSU rumors were also going around during the 2019 season with that job coming open. The opportunity came open for him to work with his friend and semi-retire, the timing was right here with a new AD, so he went home. He had already turned down an opportunity to go back as the HC in 2013.
The podcast is actually on hold for now. Thanks for asking. There are many things going on in our personal lives that make it difficult to put in the time and energy needed to put that together. We may just find some time to put something together this season. Maybe we can get you on as an analyst?
Don’t worry. There is plenty going on behind the scenes for the good of the future of the program. We are always looking to invest our time in things that will most help the program.
The beer offer still stands if you ever want to watch a game from the Hayes.
Yes, I am friends with Robert Woodard.
Yes, I am friends with Loren Hibbs.
Yes, I am friends with Gary Bartley.
I don’t know Gary Robinson as well as the others, but I did coach against him.
I don’t know what point you are trying to make. You don’t think that I am pissed and disappointed in how this season has gone so far, because I know the Coach? I support the program, and the program is bigger than any one person. It always will be.
I did follow the baseball program pretty close and I used to have season tickets. Still catch a few games, went to the uptown game this year, and I am pulling for Woodard. It just seems like the energy has left the program. I asked Gemini to compare us to ECU over the last 5 years and following is the response. I grew up in Eastern NC and have some ECU friends, so the following
kinda kills the buzz for me::

AI Overview**
Over the last five years, the ECU Pirates baseball team has maintained a dominant edge over the Charlotte 49ers, leading the all-time series 36-6 and winning 15 of their last 16 meetings. ECU has established itself as a national contender, while Charlotte has been a competitive program, experiencing a high point by winning the 2021 Conference USA championship.

I understand the struggles with football, but I have always thought that we should be better in Baseball.
Keep up the positive posts Bo. We need it.
I appreciate the post and perspective but pretty sure we took 2 of 3 against ECU last season in Charlotte. I don’t deny they dominate us on the field and financially in baseball. They support and nvest heavily in the sport. It’s a point of pride for them. I get sick of hearing about it. Tough to compare with them but I get why you used them.
Dude, it’s quick sand. No sense arguing, it just drags you down.
Keep posting you views and insights, I for one like the info.
