To make a bowl at 5-7 you have to have good grades (assuming there are not enough 6-6 teams). Historically our grades havenât not been anywhere close to be considered. Rice has qualified for a bowl at 5-7 a few times with stellar grades.

Thought I would cross post this in our football forum - wanted to make sure no one misses it. Those of you paying for a live service should no longer have to pay for ESPN+ / Unlimited if you have YTTV, plus you will be able to view the content directly in the YTTV app / live guide.
That is a great deal of our games across all sports. Personally, it seems like a no brainer if you already have a live TV service other than YTTV to make the switch. Especially at the price ESPN is charging for Unlimited.

If it matters, Spectrum included ESPN Unlimited to my subscription last year. Among other steaming content.

Could any players return to Charlotte who didnât make an NFL team
Williford played 4 in 4. I did not see a redshirt season for him as he played 11 games his freshman year. That in theory leaves him 1 year if I am correct. However he has to want it if available.

I took a look to see how many new players were on the depth chart. They brought in 24 players from the portal, of whom 9 are starters (Ancrum, Sandy, Cruji, Searcy, Gonzales, C. Williams, J. Williams, Barnes, Croft), 6 are second team (Mauldin, Pedro, Collick, Stroman, McIntosh, Sangarie), while 9 players are below that, but all of them have another year left, so they may contribute more next year (Boston, Wadle, White, Nielsen, Perteet, Alexander, Aliu-Otokiti, Birtwistle, Price-Law).
As for incoming JUCO players, they brought in 12. Only 2 will be starters (Patterson, Pierre-Nau), while 4 will be backups (Nolan-Cook, Wall, T. Smith, J. Davis) and 6 will be lower, and all will have at least one more year (Harper, Spencer, Beckham Jr, Sharpe, Laing-Taylor, Smith III).
Seventeen portal or JUCO players remain from last year, and almost all of them are on the two-deep. Eight will be starters (Gill, Willis, Simpson, Fernandez, Hampton, Burgess, Solomon, Schmitz), while 7 more will be 2d string (Irving, Bowman, Green, Hunter-Gibson, Loftis, Johnson, and Harrell when healthy), and only 2 will be lower (Startz, O. Davis). I guess that while they lost some of the best players to the portal, they also kept only players who would help.
What about players left from the Poggi era? There are only 18 left. Four of those will be starters (McGee, Clinkscales, Long, Eley), and 3 will be second string (Bullerdick, Silvia, Allen). Four more are likely to contribute significantly (Rutledge, Tifase, Williams II, and Hopkins IV). That leaves seven others (Jeffares, Rhoads, Laskey, K. Brown, Wallace, Manley, and Franklin), and all but one have another year or two left after this year.
However good this team is, it will be a blend of mostly players brought in during the last two years. They seem to be a lot better blended together this year than last, and letâs hope that, while few have been in Charlotte very long, they play as a unified team.

Hunter reports a $4m roster on his pod (maybe he mis spoke or i heard it wrong) again same question we asked about bball last year, whom on this roster have we brought in that was in demand that had to get paid this type of money??⌠something doesnt add up again.
This would get us a couple P2 defensive + offensive line man⌠Mensah only gets $4m a year.
$4 million spread out over roughly 100 players is only $40k per player. Now itâs obviously not spread evenly, but $4 million doesnât get you a lot these days.

4 mill is decent nil, but definitely not where we need to be. Williams from psu probably got a lot. I imagine Simpson got some good money to stay. Cole probably decent amount.
Lets face it majority of our guys are just hanging on to a FBS roster spotâŚ. So that means not getting paid much⌠so we must be paying a group of these guys some good $$, but again not clear we brought in many with previous production anywhere. He said the starting RB had 29 runs in two years at Cinci for example.
Yeah but he was really good at grambling. Had a great game against lsu. Barnes was appâs best WR. Pedro had almost 900 yards receiving, collick like 750, williams was a 5 star recruit in hs. Certainly not the roster talent we need long term but I think your point is a bit exaggerated
Well that is the list we are looking for, this group of guys you mention the six of them lets say are the talent lift we invested in to lift us out of our one Win season.
Agree with you 100%. Now it comes down to coaching for the Mid G6âs. Letâs see if Albin can make the transition to the new âreal worldâ? The he went from 1 or 2 wins in year 1 to 9 or 10 wins in year 2 or 3. That might as well have been 40 years ago. Landscape completely different. That is why I think this is the last year of Dabo, same as Sabin, ânot worth it anymoreâ. Now Albin doesnât have the bank roll of those 2, so he will try to adapt as much as he can.
Letâs play the first game and then either celebrate or cry in our beers. All this anguish about an unknown is jumping the gun. I for one look forward to a big win and a new ID for Charlotte football. I think Albin et al can pull it off. Sometimes it just comes down to coaching, motivation, and some luck. We can get there but I am, of course, the eternal optimist.
Teams who used to suck but now donât? UNLV, UConn, Kennesaw State, Tulane, USF, UCF, New Mexico St, Hawaii, Louisiana, UVA, Indiana, Wake Forest, Duke, etc.
