I responded with a simple āThanks for the email but no more donations will be made until there is serious change within the AD. I no longer want to throw away money.ā

CCād Phil & Hummer
Iām going to keep buying chips - need them to play.
I have already notified the Chancellor but I will no longer purchase any tickets nor donate any money until there is leadership change or significant public declaration of a new direction of commitment to Charlotte athletics.
The current Chancellor and AD do not share my values of a commitment to excellence in athletics as a way to promote school pride and brand identity. I have long āinvestedā my hard earned money back to my alma materās athletic foundation entrusting that my money would be used to further drive similar values. Since it becomes more and more apparent with each yearās continually TOLERATED poor performance on the field and reinforced with each public interview that the Chancellor or the AD gives to various media outletsā¦that my money is DEFINITELY not being used to support ideals or values anywhere near my beliefsā¦.I can no longer contribute until new leadership or a new public plan for a significant change of direction are announced.
Feel free to attach my email to Phil to your replies. Canāt speak for donkeyjaws but I bet heād give permission for his to be used too, if you prefer a shorter one. His is great.
I think Iām going to sarcastically donate $15 ā¦$1 for each year since Phil has been here to represent how much each year has been worth under his leadership.

I received an email a couple days ago from the 49er Club asking me to rejoin. I thought about it for a couple of seconds, and just hit delete. Felt bad for a couple of seconds because I love this school, but I got over it pretty quick. Iāll just donate to Belk College of Business and carry on.
I thought about responding with a simple āNope.ā
Instead, the e-mail just happened to catch me in the right mood, and the reply turned into multiple paragraphs of unloading from a very personal standpoint. Phil, Hummer, and the Board of Trustees were CCād. Whether they read it or not, I canāt say I didnāt give them a chance to do so.
