Great post Nineradvocate! This story makes me want to root for him even more! Seems like a great kid with a big heart who has no quit!
Any word on when our Spring game will be?

Getting crushed by ECU. Vote!
Need some more talent in the front 7 on defense
I know biff said he wants to add another DT and edge. I imagine we go after another linebacker with knight’s departure
I wonder if Knight’s leaving caught Biff off guard or if he has know for a while?
Seems late in portal transfer portal window to me if it was expected.
My gut says some P5 school lost their LBs to the portal or missed out on a recruit and reached out to see if he was interested in leaving.
Charlotte “P4 farm team”. Might as well change our moniker from 49ers.
I have been toying around with upcoming season being my last ambulance season. Between the portal and NIL and us sucking and the entire system basically just being destroyed. The liberty QB leaving is really just a highlight of how wrecked it is. It’s going to be near impossible to build a consistent program now, especially one like us who is new (football) or decades of suck (basketball). If you suck you lose the players that might help you not suck. If you win you lose the players that helped you win.
The kids don’t care about the education or the school and now I dont even get the proud connection of seeing a kid grow and be one of us after the career is over.
I am going to stick it out through next year and see if the parties involve decide to be caretakers of a college sports, or if we have lost all hope. I am really questioning the future of my emotional, physical and fiscal support - not just for the Niners, but college sports collectively.
Although I don’t have an ambulance, I am right with you on everything you said NWA.
I have been at this football thing from second one of Charlotte announcing the intent for a program with 4 FSL’s and will always be proud of that. However, I agree with NWA except that my final year was 2023. The fact that me and my family saw very few wins throughout this time frame (while driving to and from Raleigh every game) leaving the kids with screams of discontent that we had to go to another football game; and now having NIL, portal, restructuring, etc. ruining what little that was left to be excited about; I just can’t invest anymore time in college sports.
I have loved the time and excitement of “wait until next year”, traveling to the bowl game in the Bahamas, hanging with all of my new friends and seat mates, but enough is enough. I will always pull for the NINERS and will possibly attend a game or two just to keep up, but the FSL’s and yearly required contributions are done. It’s sad to say but college sports has move on from me, so in turn, I’m moving on from them. This isn’t a specific Charlotte thing, it’s just a general college sports thing.
This discussion comes at the same time as this:
Unlike many of you, I will be there as long as I live and, if necessary, I will turn off the lights. Go Niners!
As long as tailgating is fun I’ll do football. It’s more of an event type think. Basketball is my first love but we’re just not very good. I don’t blame Fearne, he’s taking a stick to a gun fight.
Baseball is our best chance, they doing a good job. The regional last year at Clemson was a blast.
Oh I’ll be a niner forever and I’ll keep my tickets, but the ambulance and all the added costs and all the other shit. That’s what I’m going to drop.
Well you are right down the hill from us so please feel free to join us anytime. We are right beside the Mean Green bus and we have a great time. And then I get pissed during many of the games.
clt says tailgating is the best! how many days until the spring game?
