His dad is gonna be on the bag too. For Father’s Day.

Great story.

Sharpstene tees off at about 11:45 AM ET. There is a low amateur award this week and looks like there’s 10 total amateurs in the field.

The 2020 U.S. Amateur semifinalist will play in his first U.S. Open after sharing medalist honors (9-under 133) in the Dallas Athletic Club final qualifier on May 24. Sharpstene lost to Charles Osborne, 4 and 2, at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Earlier in 2020, he established a scoring record on Course No. 4 at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club with a 6-under 64 during stroke play of the North & South Amateur. Sharpstene, of Asheville, N.C., spent three seasons at West Virginia University before transferring to Charlotte University for the 2020-21 season.

+1, tied for 33rd through 6.

He’s hanging in so far. Leader is at -4, but most of the field is right around Even.

you jinxed him - bogey with a difficult 8th hole coming up

Part of Matt’s Bio on the stat page. People still don’t know what to call our University or athletics. Hopefully Gaber can clean this up.
