49ers Golf Earns 8th Straight NCAA Bid

Didn’t see this posted anywhere but congrats to the guys!

I’m glad they got in. It would be great to see them make the “Championship” rounds now, since they are a “higher” (weaker) seed this time.

Finally! Perhaps some benefit based off of past performances. #pedigree

Only took us eight years. ::slight_smile:

Still a positive though.

Out of curiosity, did the O publish this any place other than the “For Niners Only” blog? EIGHT consecutive years is deserving of attention.

I don’t think so.

Here’s the snippet article from the NCAA and a listing of our regional. We are playing at Grandover Resort in Greensboro.

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee has selected the teams and individuals to participate in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 17-19. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
The finals will be conducted May 29-June 3, at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Southern California is the host institution for this year’s championships.
Listed below are the teams and individuals selected to participate in the championships. Teams winning automatic qualification are designated by their conferences in parentheses.

I don’t understand why they would put the only two teams from the same conference in the same regional.

It might be cause it’s a hellaclose regional for both of them. /shrug

So we can show that we should of won the conference instead of having a bullshit rainout in the last round.

Does anyone know when our tee times are?

The last round of the Conf. Tourney was rained out, bleeds? Why didn’t they make it up the next day?

They should be at this link but unfortunately nothing as of this post: http://www.golfstatresults.com/public/tee_times/index.cfm?tournament_id=3427&round=

The first tee time is at 8am. Haven’t seen anything more detailed than that.

The NCAA site should have live scoring once it gets underway, and you’ll be able to follow it then.

Haven’t seen the regional tee times yet but this is a pretty good site to keep track of the live scoring.

Edit: looks like nlp beat me to it.

RT @Charlotte49ers Golf: 49ers tee times set for 915-955 in rd 1 of NCAA regional in G’boro, thurs. Keep it on @Charlotte49ers ; @49erGameDay for updates.

question…if i wanted to go watch the golf regional and follow the Niners…do i need to buy tickets? cant find it anywhere? or do people actually do that?

I don’t know about tix (hadn’t planned on getting any), but I’m going Saturday so you can join me.

I’m sure there is a price. Grandover is too swanky to let anyone walk around for free. NCAA would charge its mother to get in to make any kind of profit, and Grandover fits that bill too.
