Can someone clarify for me exactly what that Crown Legacy team is? I’m not sure. I think they’re like a U20 feeder team for CFC. Even at that, I was shocked at the score.

The “farm team” is my understanding. These kids were drafted or recruited after college careers I assume. So not a shabby outcome!!!

Come to think of it…maybe they’re not ex-college players after all. So I withdraw my interpretation and await a more informed answer.

Damn right. I’m sure they were just playing bench guys, but they’re not even the true pro D3 team in the area. Great for the town of Matthews though.

Why is there zero publicity re 49ers men’s (or women’s) soccer. I understand this is the “off” season, but we can get an idea about what we have!!! Hard (impossible?) to even find a score!
It’s because it’s soccer. If argue it would be in the favor of the school to market itself as a strong soccer school, but they won’t.
If your assumption is accurate, and it “feels like” it is, I wonder how much more short-sighted the AD’s thinking could possibly be!!! Astoundingly misguided!
IMO, the reason sping soccer is not covered is that it’s basically meaningless. The point of the matches is not the outcome. They are glorified practices. There could be helpful write-ups only if they were in enough depth and technical enough to track player and team development, which is hard to glean when coaches are looking to evaluate more than to win.
