Very true, Sir. I like that, too. They discussed a lot about the trip. And, think just because they are the defending champs, they will take us at Transamerica. I think not, we have surprises for the zippers. Besides, we are undefeated at home. Fur man found that out the hard way.We have got to have zippers for our Fur coats. ;D

They are defending champs and draw larger home crowds than we do, it is strange that we got to host the game. Does anybody know how that process works? Is it like NIT games where schools bid to host?

Have to believe the weather played a part too. It’s a sport best placed in a “suitable” environment, and Charlotte tends to be more soccer friendly this time of year than Akron.

I like the way you think about bad grammar makes bad soccer players. The latest ranking according to NCAA we are #17 vs. #30 Akron. Last year was last year. They have to earn it like the rest of us, too.

Yes, but if it were a simple matter of the higher ranked team gets the home game, we would have known immediately after the last round was over who was hosting the game. We didn’t, there was some kind of process involved. I’m assuming there was money involved, we seem to do well bidding for these things as we tend to play a lot of postseason games at home. We played a couple of WNIT games last year and I know those come down to bids between the two teams playing.
I’m glad we have the game at home, wish I could make it down. Hopefully their team is overlooking us the way their fans are!

I totally agreed with what you shared below is what NCAA decided for Division I Men’s Soccer

acceptable for championship play. Selection of host sites will be based partly on the
quality of the playing facility. A facility evaluation form will be made available on the
NCAA website to the directors of athletics of all institutions and will be one of the
tools used in making this determination. Institutions interested in hosting are to submit
the form online by the indicated deadline. Institutions submitting proposed budgets
for preliminary rounds must have played the majority of their home games at the site
listed on the facility evaluation form. Institutions with inadequate playing surfaces
(e.g., inadequate artificial surface, minimum dimensions, etc.) may request a waiver
of the policy.
Site Selection: The site selection criteria for the Division I men’s soccer championship
are as follows (see Appendixes F and G):
60 percent Committee ranking
40 percent (1) Facility—
Quality of field surface (60 percent)
Evaluation of facility (30 percent)
