Zips need to zip their lips.
I think we’ll pull a LL Cool J. “Momma said knock you out.”
Or Nature Boy. “To beat the man, you’ve gotta beat the man.” Currently Akron is the man. We beat them, & we’re the man.

Thanks for the link, emf. It’s quite interesting following the comments from a couple of so called “soccer experts”. They don’t know didley about the 49ers. I am not talking about the two resident zipper heads on that thread, either. What a bunch of dumb asses. Why do they think the zippers have to come to our home?
I like the way they think and hope their team does the same.
It’s easier for us to punch them in the mouth as we did UAB. ;D

Yeah, I hope we have a good crowd Sunday night. Currently it looks like 425 tickets have been sold online. It’d be nice if the AD put up posters, etc. in the dorms for the returning students to come out and support the team.
Weather-wise, they’re saying mid-50s and the rain is supposed to hold off until after 1 AM Monday morning… bit of a breeze from SSE at 13 mph at gametime.

It’s Futbol, emf. And, we are not in Europe. I went by this afternoon and was glad to see a few banners around. We will need all the hooligans we could gather for the game this Sunday.

Way to go Niners!!! You controlled the game from start to finish. Great D.
Final 8!!! Keep it going Niners - Make it to Hoover!!!
Winning at sports feels great. I wish I could have been there in person. Our fanbase should be all over this…such a great achievement for any of our programs to be in the elite 8. Congratulations and good luck in Storrs.
That was so awesome. Even better that both my parents were able to go with me and had my girl by my side as well. Great time at Transamerica Field tonight!
GO NINERS!
I’m curious what the attendance was; has to be close to a record. There were 4038 in August of this year when we played the exhibition against Chapel Hill… wikipedia says 4000 is the seated capacity at Transamerica.

Made it just in time, though. ^-^ On to UCONN!!!
Someone pointed out on another board that St. Mary’s and us are the only unseeded teams to make it this far.

That is B.S. since the place was full.
Great game. I never knew soccer could be so exciting. I really liked the way the team started the FORTY-NINER chant at the end of the game.
It looked like one of the Zipper fans was planning on taking a dip after the game.

That kid should have been red-carded for a crowd foul. :blank:

The theme of the night for the Zippers was “I want to hold your hand”

I call BS on those attendance numbers too. The The Observer article says 2182. The Akron paper says 2812. The place was full, which should make it closer to 4000. Of course, how would we know? I heard the ticket office ran out of tickets. I bet there were 200 in the concession stand line at one point in time.
