I knew someone could dig it up.
I know that High Point University sponsored a Nationwide Series Car a few weeks back - so I don’t think there is any problem legally with the NCAA- I did not how much exposure they got from the announcers- they were talking the school up and giving good info about them, so I like the idea- I think that we could really benefit from some of this- is there a Car number 49 in Nationwide? It would reduce exposure to some degree to do it in Nationwide instead of Sprint Cup, but it would also reduce cost
It has made the local newspapers as well as the 3 local newscasts regularly. Of course, the PR machine that HPU has would rival any large university. They get it out there.

What Niner drivers are at the Speedway tonight or this weekend?

I got an email the other day that Cliff Daniels (Mech Eng '10) is the new Crew Chief for Kyle Larson (No 5, Hendrick Motorsports). Cliff’s was Jimmie Johnson’s Crew Chief before this, and is the youngest Crew Chief in NASCAR. Here is a good article in our Alumni magazine.

We need to milk some pub out of this. Maybe the o will write up a two page story on it. You know, like they do for any tar hole who does anything.

clt says that was a boring race

The truck race was exciting

Kyle Weatherman drove an East Carolina car last season.

I wonder if the ezu car was sponsored indirectly by med school funds or canceled women’s sports? Go fund me ezu

William Byron’s crew chief, Rudy Fugle, is a 49er alumnus and Byron’s dad is an alumnus as well. He (William’s Dad) was also a good friend and a member of my Fraternity at Charlotte. William is a stand up guy and truly a nice person.
