Very cool.

I am glad that they took the time to do some sightseeing. With D.C. being a road trip that all of our teams take they should really find ways to incorporate that into their trips from an educational standpoint. If you tour the Vietnam Memorial, and the Korean War Memorial (especially at night), and do not come back and put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem you were not paying attention.

Great work!

There have been six Triad Flights of Honor from the Greensboro airport, taking WWII veterans from this area to visit the memorial, free of charge this year. Iโ€™ve been in the PTIA lobby when theyโ€™ve returned four of those flights. They have been paraded upon their return to huge crowds in the airport lobby and they truly have enjoyed the admiration and thanks people have given them. I get teary-eyed just thinking of meeting some of them.

Itโ€™s great to see the soccer team had this rare opportunity. We should thank World War II veterans, they are leaving us quickly. Were it not for them, we could be speaking German as a native language today.

SAL-UTE!! ;D

Very honorable of our boys to do this, Iโ€™m sure it meant A LOT to the veterans. Always great to see our teams representing the university in such a positive manner off the field, as well.
