How is it trashing the sport when I only said that I was having a hard time finding anything to get excited about as someone that is not familiar to the sport. I have watched, not in person but on tv, two women’s and one men’s game, there have been a total of one goal scored in all three games and what seems like only 3-4 shots on the goal in each game.
It may be better if you, instead of trashing a fellow alumnus, try to encourage someone’s interest by as ghostofclt, Niner23 and Nineradvocate did suggesting ways to become more interested.
Appreciate the effort to support (not sarcasm) If you can find a women’s match streaming on ESPN plus with our own Lindsey Ozimek (Beam is way easier to spell), doing color commentary, I’d suggest that. She knows a couple of things about soccer.
Unlikely as they are sitting in 9th place at 1-2-4. UTSA in 8th at 2-4-2 with head to head a 0-0 draw. Niners have 3 more matches while UTSA has a couple. Top 8 teams make the tournament in Lakewood Ranch, FL.
Charlotte is one point behind with a match “in hand”. Win that match and we pass them by. How we do against North Texas at home next week will likely be the determining factor. Winning just a single point at Rice would be very helpful, too. Season ending against Temple looks like it could be 3 points.
Thanks! Realize I wasn’t reading the standings correctly - at least the way they are listed on the AAC website - and took a bit to find the points rankings, which are “buried” in the stats PDF.
